Question regarding Laredo vs Limited

Currently I have a 08 Grand Cherokee Limited and have been getting offers from the local Jeep dealership to come in and upgrade to the new model. I like the interior look of the Laredo better but like the standard features of the Limited, I don't want to get rid of my sunroof. I'm torn as to which to look at as once you start adding the features to the Laredo the price gets up close to the price of the Limited. What are peoples thoughts about the whole Laredo vs Limited.

I had the same issue... my must haves were 4x4, Hemi, pano-sunroof, tow. The MSRP b/t a X and Limited came within $2-3K and the Limited gave you HIDs, NAV, select terrain and nicer rims (in my opinion).

Of course then you'll get the... well why not then move up to the Overland. I didn't mostly b/c I wasn't a big fan of the 20s (might be the only one) or the perforated leather.

So I settled on the Limited in White w/ Beige... which wasn't a combo on the X, I think you had to get Black seats.

Bottom line - go get yourself one!!! I'm loving mine every day. Finally got a chance to open the roof up yesterday b/c it hit 60 in Ohio. The pano-roof is a must.

Good luck. See ya.

Re: Question regarding Laredo vs Limited

Well, it's really a matter of personal preference. Neither is better than the other, it depends on your wants, needs, intended use and budget.

Let me caveat this by saying that due to restrcitions and such, I am not positive what can and can't be ordered on the Laredo's.

A few major differences that are standard on the Limited you would immediately notice:

Panoramic roof, SmartBeam HiDs, Capri Leather Interior, Chrome mirrors, Quadra-Trac II 4WD w/ Select-terrain (if 4x4), htd 1st & 2nd row seats, remote start, rain sensitive wipers, Alpine 9-speaker Stereo, 430N stereo (garmin navigation), 18" Polished Cast Aluminum Wheels, Chrome/Steel strip on lower bumper.

Now, most (not all) of these items are available on the Laredo through various packages.

Personally, I originally wanted a Laredo X but I ended up with a Limited because I wanted the HiDs which you cannot get in a Laredo.

Re: Question regarding Laredo vs Limited

I really wanted a limited for two reasons - the HIDs and the dimming side view mirrors...I ended up with a Laredo X and am quite happy with it. Though I wish it had those two things, it's not a deal breaker, and it wasn't worth it for the upgrade. If the heated steering wheel was standard on the Limited, that would have been a different story... :D

HIDs- If you've never had them, you have no idea what your missing! lol Thats all I have to say :)

Easier terms, it lights up the night... and people unfortunately constantly "flash" me because they think I have my brights on, until I flash them back and they just look dumbfounded. :D

I had them on my previous car, and I agree, I love them...they are great, especially on non-lit roads. I do miss them, but I've adjusted. In all honesty, I miss the dimming side mirrors more - they really make a difference in my day to day driving.

Then again, I am leasing, so I knew this would be a temporary thing when I got into it. Hoping next one will be a purchased CPO Limited. :D

And this is my problem I have HID, 1st/2nd row heated seats, auto-dimming everything, auto windshield wipers, and sunroof in my WK and don't want to give it up. My concern with the new sunroof is the cloth liner with the sunroof. I live in Colorado and we have tons of sun and don't want to have a faded liner in my car after 3 years.

You have two options: 1) Tint the pano roof. Or, 2) opt for the Rear Seat Entertainment and get the std sunroof. IMO, I don't think the cloth shade will fade, it is already Light Frost or Dove, perhaps(?) in color. Besides, my shade is always tucked away.

The Pano Roof sold me on the Jeep over the MB M-Class. My wife's R350 (purchased in June 2010) came with the pano roof and I was instantly jealous. I had to have one.

I think you also now have the option of ordering a "single-pane sunroof" in lieu of the pano roof. The single pane roof knocks $395 off of the vehicle price.

Good to know.

When I was looking (Sep/Oct) a std sunroof wasn't available AT ALL in the Laredo X; it was pano or nothing. It did come in a Limited/Overland but you had to get the RSE.

Re: Question regarding Laredo vs Limited

I went for the Laredo "E" model since I absolutely hate leather seats. I have them in my Liberty and I can't stand them. :slapfight: One of the reasons why I'm trading in my Liberty. I also love the black wood trim in the Laredo. It has a very modern, sexy look.

But hey, get whatever model that you like. It's your vehicle, you have to drive it day in and day out. So buy whatever makes you happy.
