Hi everyone ! I joined to find some info,on my new 5.9..I already have a 97 ,4.0 limited. one question is---in the literature, some mention a heavy,r trans output, and in another,it seems to refer to a stroger t case output.I ask because,i have a perfect 249 that came out of my 97,when I did the 249-242 swap, and my new 5.9 has the dreaded vc failure. will all 96-98 t cases interchange /?
i am 99% sure it will work ,its been awhile since ive done reading on that but 99%,,,when i first got mine i read everything i could but have forgot alot of it ,,i hope u own stock in a gas company:thumbsup:
What you may be referring to is that all 5.9's came with the 46RE transmission, whereas the 5.2's and 4.0's came with either the 42RE or 44RE. I have never seen anything but a plain jane 249 in a Niner stock, tho. Swap 'em, you'll be fine!
