IAT sensor code P0112

I have a 2004 jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo (Altitude pkg), whatever that means, I bought used. It has the 4.0L engine. I have changed the sensor 3 times and back probed the sensor connector and it does send 5.1 volts to the sensor, and the sensor is working, checked it with the repair manual, checked it hot and cold and the range is close to where it should be, I am confident the sensor is working correctly. I had a volt meter on the connector, while turning over the key and the voltage does not jump around, it goes to 5.1 volts and is steady. I want to back probe the connector to the PCM, but don't want to create more problems, and mess up a wire or a 500 dollar PCM. I know the ground wire is common to the ECT and the MAP sensor, my question is would a ground wire problem on either the IAT, ECT or the MAP cause this code to set..? I know it takes 2 low voltage readings in a row to set the code, sometime I get both P0112 and P0113, I just clear with my code reader and sometimes only 1 of them, comes back, seems a bit intermitting to me. I am going to get a PCM flash later this week, and have a tech check for ground wire problems any other ideas..........

Re: IAT sensor code P0112

Just an FYI, I took my Jeep to dealer and he knew exactly what my problem was, 5 min. after he pulled it in and I explained to him what was going on. He reached behind the valve cover where the main wiring harness ran, and it was riding on a bolt back there and had worn a hole in the bottom of the wiring harness and had warn thru it and was wearing a hole thru the IAT power wire, he said that Jeep had ran the wiring harness back between the valve cover and firewall, and he had seen a few of these where it rubs thru the protective wire cover and shorting out some wires, mine just happen to be the IAT wire. Just an FYI, you may be able to pass along....
