Keyless system question

I was wanting to know how do you make the doors lock automatically when you walk away from the car? I had a keyless system on my 05 STS and it would lock the doors when your FOB was out of range.

Thanks

You cant, you have to either press the button on the FOB or press the little silver button on the door handle or tail gate.

I wouldn't trust a system that "is suppose to lock itself when your x feet away". I prefer locking my vehicle myself, that way I know for sure it's locked.

You forgot that you can lock it on the inside door prior to closing it and not hear the annoying horn beep. You should be able to shut off the horn beep through EVIC I believe.

Yes you can. I hate cars tha beep the horn when you lock them.

BTW - I have read that the alram get set ONLY when you lock the car with the small buttons on the door handles.

Page 21 of the manual says it does arm the alarm and I have been doing it this way for years on other vehicles. You can see the light flash when you shut the door after doing it this way. I think the only way the alarm doesn't get set is when you push down on the actual lock. At least it didn't on other vehicles.
