V6 gas mileage
I've seen a few V8 gas mileage threads now just curious about the mileage from people with the V6.

Re: V6 gas mileage
Getting as low as 15mpg in city stop/go traffic and as high as 23mpg on just highway's. With mix highways/city 17-19mpg. Also it is winter and I do warm up my car for at least 5 min every morning. I am planning to try 89 next and publish results and after same with 93.

Re: V6 gas mileage
Take all the numbers you saw in the V8 gas mileage thread and add about 1-3mpg to those ;-) From the threads I have seen that seems to be the difference between the V8 and V6 in the WK2.

Oh and Breitling did bring up a good point. All these fuel economy threads but people are asking at the worst possible time. Remember most of these Jeeps are brand new where fuel economy will be at its worst for the car until it fully breaks in and gets a good 8,000+ miles on it. Lastly, its winter!! Fuelc are different, mielage is worse in cold temperature and also lots of remote starting and slow driving in snowy conditions etc etc.

Hopefully we will see more threads like this over the summer where people have more miles on their cars and the temps are up. Your gonna see some completely different numbers...and thats a good thing.

just over 2000KM 3 1/2 tanks of gas through. right now I am at 19.6MPG (12KM/100L) about 75% highway 25% city/urban.

Re: V6 gas mileage
Almost 11k and I consistently average 18-19 mpg...with mostly hwy and some city driving.

Re: V6 gas mileage
Just did a trip this weekend of about 7 hrs driving with mostly all highway - got 21.9 on the evic. Been getting 18.6 for commuting - on a limited access highway that is actually mostly stop and go. Again on the evic- I want to see if I get different numbers checking the gallons and mileage.

Re: V6 gas mileage
Around town, about 14-15mpg. On the highway, maybe 20mpg. I'm not getting the EPA rated 20mpg highway, and I'm definitely broken in.

I don't regret the V-6, but from my own experience, the highway mpg of the V-6 isn't much better than the V-8 would have been. Around town it isn't horrendous, but it isn't quite what I was hoping for.

Re: V6 gas mileage
I have Laredo X V6 4x4 QT I

On highway ride a couple days ago I got about 22 MPG

In the city I get 10-11 MPG. Don't know what's wrong with it.

I found EVIC to be very close to actual calculated mileage.

Re: V6 gas mileage
The last two tank fulls, I averaged 14.5 MPG. This is up from 12.5 that I was getting from the first few tank fill ups. I have 1300 miles on the od. This is mostly Suburban driving about 80% Suburban with 20% Highway

Re: V6 gas mileage
Im about 14.8 MPG City with hills and 24 Hwy Im doing about 80% city 20% freeway. It does seem to be getting better the first 2 tanks were at 12.5 to 13 MPG with 1,500 Miles on vehicle. I'm hoping the update will help as I heard it gives better power performance and gas millage .
Im in San Diego so the weather is pretty warm here for winter 60 - 70 average so the cold is not a issue for millage here .

I'm fairly confident that most of the people posting numbers of 14+ MPG on the V8 are either driving like a grannys purely for the purpose of higher mileage or they are taking a sample from a short drive and not an average across a full tank.

Even when driving aggresivly I think the lowest my Jeep has read was about 14.5mpg and that was with no regard at all to mileage. If you were driving the same way with the hemi you will most likely be under 10mpg. That's almost 50% more mileage and is a huge difference in fuel cost especially if you are like me and need to fill up at least once a week. I would say I have a "normal" driving style and can easily hit 17+ combined hwy and city.

In the end it's tough to compare mpg numbers from different people as the way you drive almost plays as much of a role as the engine size.

Edit: as dckcentuar mentioned above the milage most definitly improved after the first 4 or so fill-ups
