Chicagoland dyno tuning?

Does anyone know of any places that do dyno tuning around Chicago? Preferably south/southwest suburbs?

There are lots of places but you might have to call to see if they know how to tune computerless cars.
There is Performance Autowerks in Plainfield Performance Autowerks Main . Finishline Performance http://www.flpmotorsports.com/ in Naperville. Speed Inc. http://www.ls1speed.com/ in Schaumburg

I emailed a place in in new lenox, Straight-line performance. They said:

As far as a full tune on the dyno with wideband its $450 total. If we have to work on the car mechanically it would be extra. Meaning if something is wrong. Is it a locked out distributor? What kind of carb. Now we do offer renting the dyno hourly if you want to tune it yourself or someone you know and trust. Just giving you some options. Let me know if you have any questions.

It is really just the carb that needs to be tuned. I have never tuned one before. I think I might just read up on it and try doing it without the dyno to save the money. It would just be more convenient to make an adjustment, then do a dyno pull, make an adjustment... Instead of Tuning and hitting the street and tweaking it. If it still doesn't seem right I will probably shop around prices and have it done, or maybe see what the rental costs and find someone to tune it.

I know its not chicago but im in grand rapids, mi and our shop charges $100 the first hour and $80 each additional hour and we tune it. something like that should take no more then 2 hrs unless its pretty bad. just a thought. pm me or something if want some more info.

That's a really good price. A little far for me though. I have never tuned a carb, but I read up on it and think I'm going to give it a try myself. I think I just need to lean it out a little because it's blowing black smoke when I get on it, and the spark plugs are black. If I have trouble with it, I'll keep you in mind. Thanks
