How to: Install Dash Speakers in WK

Hey what's up fellas! This is primarily for my Guide Thread

Last week or so I just installed my Boston Acoustics 3.5" S-35's. I have to say that these are quite everything I wanted out of them. Louder and more crisp. Definitely better then the stock Boston acoustics speakers. Whole different level of loud. Pictures coming tomorrow

Installation

1. Pry around all edges of speaker grill to release and remove. Pry on side near door first.

2. Remove 2 phillips screws securing speaker. Pull out speaker, disconnect, and remove.

3. Connect speaker wiring harness or use soldering or connectors.

4. Secure Speaker with screws previously removed

5. Test speaker operation THEN reinstall grill

Thanks bud. Very easy to install. 20 mins tops if you don't have the smallest screwdriver. Sound so much better.

Check my guide in my signature if you need anymore help or message me.

how much too tall were they? my kappas were a hair to tall, and they would push the grill up a little. i pulled off the grills and there is allot you can trim off the inside of the grill to let them fit. and i cant even find a 3.5" made by power acoustik? what is the model number of them?

Honestly I would go with the Boston Acoustic 3.5s
The Power Acustic are kinda cheap knockoffs and i heard them over the weekend. Compaired to the Boston Acustic speakers the BA's where way way better.

I am doing a similar install but rather than using the crutchfield adapters i crimped on some female connectors. I think i might have switched the positive and negative because the speakers sound out of phase. Do you know what the wire colors are for pos/neg on the left and right dash speakers? thanks alot

Re: How to: Install Dash Speakers in WK

Does anyone know the Metra model number for the dash speaker harness adapters? I've been searching the net for almost an hour now and can't seem to find an answer. They are smaller than the harnesses for the doors apparently. I have a set of 3.5" Infinity's from a previous vehicle I'd like to swap in but prefer not to cut and crimp to make it easier on myself when I pull them out and put the stockers back in when/if I ever sell my WK.
