Why would you need to remove the battery to pull the door panel off? i have installed many door speakers including my 10 wk and see no need for that.

thats standard procedure bro...

a few reasons why though-

nobody wants to drain their battery- your door(s) will be open for a while...

and nobody wants a short circuit in the middle of the install where you have to spend more and more time figuring the short....

also last but not least safety.

Whenever doing anything electrical in your car, you should disconnect the battery. Its a safe thing to do that will take you less than a minute, and save you in the long run.

It took me about 40 minutes. It only took so long because I couldn't get the Neg off and its really , really windy today so my stuck was going everywhere!

I was just wondering, would I need to install a new separate amplifier if I want to use after market 6x9s in the rear?

Re: How to: Install Rear Door Speakers in WK

There are no 6X9's in the rear doors. they are 6.5" the 6X9's are in the front doors. and you can use the factory amp if you want.
