Anyone found any headrest monitors for the WK2?

I am looking for options for rear entertainment for my jeep. I will not be able to use the overhead DVD/entertainment system because I have the big sunroof.
I know some people have talked about using Ipads. I would like something a little more built in, something that I can be integrated with the 730N RHR. I know as of now Mopar only has the overhead unit. Has anyone done anything custom, other than Ipads?
Thanks

I think someone had mentioned using the Mercedes headrest w/screens as they are similar design?

If something comes up I will be all over that for sure.

I looked at crutchfield.com and they show a number of universal headrest monitors.

I would check with their tech department to make sure of fit.

It looks like for now the only option is to find a monitor that will fit on back of the head reast and do like a custom fiberglass enclosure. Does anyone know if a 7" monitor will fit? I was looking at the Alpine TME-M780 it looks like the measurements are 7"x5 1/16"x1 1/8".

I don't see anyone coming out with one, there's too much stuff (springs, latches, and wiring for the active headrests) in the headrests in these to have room to cut the inside out to make room for a screen.

My personal experience with built-in, headrest-style entertainment systems has been negative. These things are usually added as an afterthought by manufacturers (whether console/headrest or ceiling mount) and lack sophistication. Haven't seen many rear seat entertainment systems that look well integrated with styling/functional cues. Adding your own "homebrew" setup will probably cost plenty and end up not looking all that "right".

I know you're not into the iPad option, but. . .
There's a great holder for the iPad that hangs off the front headrests. . . you get a much bigger screen, and so much more than just DVD playback. Here are a couple of links, just in case:
http://www.griffintechnology.com/pro...nemaseat-ipad# Don't like the color much.
http://www.amazon.com/PH-PAD-PB-HRM-.../ref=pd_cp_e_1 Interesting design, questionable durability.
http://toucoul.com/products/coulvue-headrest-car-mount Interesting, to me. Think I might go this route, even thought it is most expensive.

For the cost of a custom aftermarket install, I can have 2 iPads with mounts, so my "customers" can watch their own content. I can take 'em out if I want, say, into the hotel (or tent!). Not only watch DVD, but play games, access internet, check email/Facebook, and, dare we say it, run "educational" apps.

My 2 worth. . . or as Gramps used to say: "Free advice, worth every penny".

Thanks for the advice and the links. The Ipads are an option. I will look into it more when I get back to the states as far as the full potential of the Ipad. But in the mean time I will keep an eye out for headrest units as well.

Rosen AV-7700 would work- it is a Mercedes/BMW system - emailed Rosen to ask if it would fit in the 2011 JGC and they said yes.
I was think of getting this myself, but I might wait till SEMA this year and then decide.
