low idle and stalling issue

after changing my plugs the other day (changed to stok plugs) my jeep was running too smooth, super quiet and idled around 500rpms. then it stalled twice on me and i have been getting poor mpgs (10.5) i figured my egr valve was going on me since i am at 85k miles. picked one up today and will install it tomorrow, it looks like a pita to replace.

Get back to us on that. I'm sure you made the correct Gaps on the spark plugs.

yep, 0.04in gap and torqued to 20ft/lbs. when i changed the plugs one was competely burned off and it wasnt even the cylinder that had the misfire a few weeks ago. plugs were only 25k miles old. could it have been that the computer had not adjusted to all of the plugs actually being fully functional? my mpgs are back up to normal now too 21 highway and 15 city

Re: low idle and stalling issue

Maybe that's possible? Since MPG's are back to normal any stalling yet?

Re: low idle and stalling issue

Grab your throttle postion sensor and jiggle it around... if your idle fluctuates this is your problem... SUPER common on the 4.7l motor, not sure exactly why but it is what it is.

Its on the drivers side of your throttle body. looks like this:

Re: low idle and stalling issue

Hey, i just started having the same issue! My jeep only mods are borla exhaust and a diablo sport intune...it just started and idles around 500rpm and bobbing up and down.
This morning i went to start it and it would start then stall out.
Is this the same exact issue you were having because it sounds like it to me.
Please let me know what i have to do.
Thanks,

-Steve
