MPG Change When Switching To SRT Reps

So I'm curious as to what everyone that has switched to the SRT reps noticed in an mpg change? I know that it will go down but I know my wife is going to ask this question so I'm trying to figure this out before I cross that road. Thanks for the help!

You'll see a mild increase in fuel use, a combination of a heavier wheel/tire combo and extra rolling resistance. Keep your tire pressures well maintained to minimise it. (I err on the high side, 42 psi cold),

That's about all you can do.

So far I haven't noticed much of a drop and I'm sure that the increase in fuel consumption will be minimal.

When my wheels were shipped to me, the FedEx information told me that three wheels/tires were exactly 70.0lbs and one was 69.6lbs. I'll dig up some numbers on the stock rims.. brb.

The 17" Ronin II wheels weigh 22lbs. and the factory fitted Goodyear Fortera 245/65/17 tires weigh 32lbs. according to this thread: http://jeepsunlimited.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=468122

22+32=54lbs.

The reps w/ tires weigh 70lbs.

70-54=16lbs.

16x4=64lbs. weight difference between the stock setup and srt replicas.

Hey thanks for that info! That's not bad actually considering they are 3" bigger! I'm going to need new tires this summer after one more trip to Michigan from Florida so I'm going to try to get my wife to let me get the black srt reps!

What color is your Jeep?

Re: MPG Change When Switching To SRT Reps

its mostly a calculation problem, your jeep doesnt accurately know how fast and how far you are traveling since the wheels are a different size that it is calibrated to handle.

So because of the increased size, would the computer bloat the MPG reading?

The overall size difference is neglibible..... it's only the differnce between a worn and new factory tire.

The computer can be corrected either at the dealership or most places that lift vehicles. All they need to do is re-calibrate the computer to the correct wheel and tire sizes and your EVIC will read properly.
