Here in Aus I have had a few tyre shops looking for me, they are able to get some rims after market which took a few days searching but at 18" there isnt any MT's, I could go for an AT set but then it would render my 20" road tyres really useless. So its MT or none

So I think I am going to have to drop to 17" and see if I get get some 265/65/17 BFG KM2 Mud Terrains, I have seem some on this forum with 255/75/17, is there any reason 265's wont go or is it just hard finding stock?

Also what brand rims fit? the disc and calipers look pretty big..

Anyone got any comments on this?

Hey kfc01,
Have done some research for you, and i think the best option for you is to sell the Grand Cherokee and get yourself a Toyota Prado... at least they have tyres!!!

I had a landcruiser ;) and this is better for my 90% on road style. I have managed to find rims too, Prado was an option however for the same features 30k more. Very happy with the Jeep over my Toyota.

but on the 17"s I went to a few jeep specialists and we managed to get some 17"s on but the clearence to the calipers were literally a few mm, which was just a bit too close for most of us, even though the caliper does not move things could get lodged in it, and maybe dmg it, so decided on 18's instead.

You can fit a 32" tire on these GC's so there are tons of tires out there that will fit. Almost all the manufacturers offer a 32" for a 17" rim.
And for an 18" wheel you can go with a 275/65/18 which a few manufacturers offer M/T's in
