Carwash - potential drivetrain damage?
To prevent this from getting off topic, let me start by saying I only run my car through these auto car washes once or twice a year during winter, hand washed otherwise.

Can the mechanical track which pushes the car through the wash damage the drivetrain in my QDII? They turn the car off and put it in neutral. However, I know there is a full neutral by the 4low switch which is supposed to be used when towing. Perhaps the full neutral is for sustained towing?

No worries and you dont need to put your transfercase in neutral, just your transmission... and you should be able to leave your car on unless they have a specific rule at that specific carwash.
