20" Wheels painted black
1 Attachment(s)
What do you guys think about this?

My jeep is scheduled for delivery by March 15th-20th and delivered with 18" polished wheels. I'm hoping to negotiate a dealer take off as I have made this clear from day one and they have seemed somewhat agreeable. I was curious what the 20's would look like painted black. A co-worker photoshopped them for me and I'm curious what you guys think? If anyone else can get a better photoshop job done be my guest. This at least gave me an idea.

I dont like it on that color. A white GC may look good with the black wheels. The wheels also look very flat (vs. gloss or satin).

Re: 20" Wheels painted black
I'm sure in real life they would look better, but at this point I'm not a fan. I did see a company on ebay that sells "black chrome" wheel. Maybe look into that also.

Just don't wash the rims, it'll be a whole lot cheaper, LOL

I am only a fan of black rims on lighter color cars.

Re: 20" Wheels painted black
These are some of the best Jeep wheels around, and evidently 22" versions will be available for the SRT8 or other future versions based on the SEMA photos. Due to their beauty, and the nice patina on the painted versions, many WK2'rs may be more resistant to black.

IMO these WK2 20's would look killer in black, and agree with the black chrome and glossy comments. At the end of the day, it's your rig, do what you want.

Couple of JG Member Red WK with Black wheel examples below. There's tons more.

You can try black vinyl and/or plastidip first to see if its something you want to spend $400-700 (powdercoat vs permachrome aka black chrome).

I'll probably throw some 3m black vinyl on this summer to see if I like the look on my black overland.

Re: 20" Wheels painted black
Thanks for the opinions. I agree with the matte vs gloss. I have my GTI wheels black gloss and like the gloss. Keep in mind this was my coworker doing this for me as a favor admist other more pressing duties and his photoshop skilss are obviously questionable. If anyone else wants to give it a go I'd love to see a better quality shot at it.

Re: 20" Wheels painted black
I like it, I would like to see it with all the chrome painted black also. That would be something to photoshop. Not sure if it would look good or just make it look cheap. I definately like the black wheels. I like the matte black, but probably not for such a rich looking car.
