05-08 intake swap for 09+ 5.7 hemi
 
Has anyone here swapped out your intake manifold on a 05-08 5.7L hemi for a 09+ one on your WKs? I'm thinking about this but don't know if it's even possible or if it would in fact improve performance.

the 09+ flows better and I believe is a direct swap

They (Eagle Intake) are not just a "bolt on" but, like Scott says, they flow better and are suppose to give a little more power/torque. The LX guys are really into it. Here's a couple threads to give you a little more info. There is a kit available to make it a little easier, but the question is....is it worth it? I haven't seen any dyno tests before and after.

as mentioned above, you need a converted head gasket that matches the 09 ports to the 08 and older heads.

09 has the same ports as the 6.1 motor does.

I was looking into a full top end rebuild, eagle intake, ported 09 heads (challenger), cam, and srt headers since the ports would finally match up. Then tune it, I bet that would easily put you at 400 to the ground

The Eagle intake works pretty well...I have a phenolic spacer as opposed to the aluminum one that CAM sells. Originally, it was thought that you needed to use both the intake gaskets along with the spacer gaskets. However, I'm contemplating removing the spacer gaskets (top) and mounting the manifold directly to the spacer via the single set that goes into the manifold. You still need the gasket on the bottom of the spacer to mate up to the block. I don't think I'm getting any leaks, but I know of a few who have and have removed the extra gasket on the top of the spacer with success. My spacer came with the manifold as a "package" deal. Otherwise, I'd go with the thinner aluminum spacer that CAM offers on the LX site.
