Anyone know the March 2011 lease rates for the Grand Cherokee?

It's going ti be a pretty penny. I first tried leasing and called around for an overland 4x4 on a 36 or 48 month lease. I believe the cheapest I found, with taxes and fees and 2 grand down, the 36 was around 800 and the 48 was a hair over 700$. I obviously decided to buy instead.

Apparently, Jeep doesn't have much faith in the residual values of these vehicles which makes leasing a not so attractive option.

It's a shame, as these vehicles are much better and should hold their value better than their predecessors.

I think its a gamble they are not prepared to take, and its one that a lot of automotives feel the same way about. Was just talking to a cadi dealer and because of the residuals on escalades leases are hovering around 1100 a month vs 700 or less two years ago.

If you look at current market value of a 2008 Overland and your well under 20k.

Re: Anyone know the March 2011 lease rates for the Grand Cherokee?

Those residuals are about 2% lower then they were in February but were also getting closer to model year change over. Leasing is not going to be as favorable in the future (unless you get a business deduction or only keep a car 2 years and drive 10/k miles and must drive new).
Though, I honestly think 37% is probably a little high for auction value of a 4 year old 60k mile overland in the condition of your typical lease turn in.

It is a vehicle you buy not lease. I think they know that and like the one poster stated that the finance company is not going to take a gamble anymore.

Re: Anyone know the March 2011 lease rates for the Grand Cherokee?

My dealer is trying to say that the residual for a 4x4 Summit for 36/15 is 43%, not 44%. Anyone know for sure? I dont want to get ripped off.

The streets of Metro Detroit is already flooded with Overlands and Laredos already. I think their resale value is going to be business as usual.
