New JCG, again!

Tonight I picked up a Black/Saddle 3.6 Overland. I got this car after Chrysler bought back my lemon Mineral Gray/Black earlier this week. You can read about it here:

Quadra-lift is pretty cool and the color of New Saddle is great. Also I've found the build quality to be better than the other one. The hood and lift gate are better aligned. There's a new piece in front of the intake that wasn't on my other one. Thoughts?

Looks like it might guard against something coming up through your grille and getting sucked into the intake?

What is the build date for your Overland? Mine was built in November and it doesn't have that extra piece. Also what is it made of? It looks like foam or something soft so it will compress whe the hood closes.

Built 01/25/11 and it's made from a dense styrofoam. It's only compressed slightly and seems to be glued on.

Looks like Jeep figured they had better do more to prevent water entry. Wonder why?.... -cough-

Hmmmm interesting. Do you have the weatherstripping on the hood?

My 1/22 build Overland V8 has this also.

Yep, have that strip too. Also there's no hole in the belly pan that some V6's are coming with.

They call it a "snow guard".

The unbelievable happened this morning. Driving from Milwaukee to Chicago the dash lit up indicating problems with the ETC, SERV 4WD, MIL, and ESC. The ECO light stopped displaying and the engine temp needle buried itself left, full cold. I pulled over turned off the car and back on and the MIL light stayed illuminated along with no ECO indication and engine temp staying cold for the rest of the drive to Chicago.
I stopped by the Jeep dealer in Schaumberg, IL and asked them to pull any codes, here they are:
PCM P2181 stored Cooling System Performance
PCM P0128 pending Thermostat Rationality
TCM U1402 stored Implausible Engine Temperature Signal
ABS U0401-00 stored Implausible Data Received From
ASCM U0401-00 stored Implausible Data Received From
ASCM C15A8-2A stored Air Suspension DOWN Button-Stuck
ASCM C1562-98 stored Ride Height Air Pump Control-
DTCM U0401-00 stored Implausible Data Received From
CCN U11B7 stored Lost Communication with Terrain Switch
TIPMCGW B2305 stored Wiper Park Switch Input Circuit High

And this is supposed to replace my lemoned JGC?!

Video right after it happened, sorry for the poor quality.
