Quadra-Trac II 2WD

i've read several descriptions of MP3023 transfer case and many of those including this one http://www.wk2jeeps.com/wk2_tcases.htm mention that it has 2WD operating position. Anyone head about, have an idea of the way to switch the case into 2WD position?

There is no 2WD only mode on any 4x4 WK2s. The closest you'll come to 2WD is Sport mode. This will transfer 80% of the power to the rear wheels.

vitk - You have to have the "Quadra-Track 11" to get the selectable 2 Wheel Drive, as opposed to the "Quadra-Drive 11" which has the "Selec-Terrain" including Sport Mode and the limited slip rear differential. At least according to the info you linked to. :)

As far as I know, there is no 2WD mode on any of the 4x4 WK2s. The info listed on wk2jeeps.com regarding QT2 is erroneous.

it looks like Jeep does not provide mechanism to switch trasfer case into 2WD. Transfer case itself is Magna MP3023, also used in GMC Yukon where such mode is available... Just trying to see before jumping under the vehicle if there are some ideas. I'll probably try to check GMC service manual to how they connected switches

This is completely and utterly incorrect.

It is QTI that has the fixed 50/50 split and therefore no SelecTerrain knob. The QTII does indeed have that knob.

There is no way to lock into a 2WD mode in the WK2. If you have a 4x4, you will have either a fixed torque split (QTI) or a varying torque split depending on the chosen SelecTerrain knob setting (QTII and QDII).

Re: Quadra-Trac II 2WD

Yes, it is incorrect. The document @ wk2jeeps.com should be updated. Currently it specifically states that selectable 2 wheel drive is standard on 4 wheel drive 2011 WK2's.

"Quadra-Trac II (MP3023 two-speed active electronic transfer case)

(Standard on Limited and Overland 4x4 models)

The MP3023 transfer case provides the following benefits:

Transfer case operating ranges are:

Operating positions: 2WD - 4WD Auto N 4WD Low.
2WD = 2 wheel drive.

4WD Auto = Electronically controlled wet clutch for torque biasing.
N = Transfer case neutral for 4-wheel flat recreational towing.
4WD Low = Low range (2.72:1) part time mode.

Re: Quadra-Trac II 2WD

Just because the transfer case has the option to run in 2WD doesn't mean Jeep has to give you access to 2WD...Not an error, just misleading.
