Someone please Help!!

I was trying to hook up my Dual color LEDs a little bit ago. Got the resistor hooked up and put the LED bulb in. No white light but the amber blinker came on. Weird thing is that as I'm putting the bulb in, it flashes white real quick than goes out but no matter what the amber part of the blinker still works. I decided to disconnect the resistor and put the regular bulb back in for now. Now the parking lamp will not work but the blinker does. What gets me is that now the rear light doesn't work the same as well. No parking, just blinker. What the hell did I do? Checked under hood fuse for parking lamp and it is fine. Help Help Help PLEASE!! I have no passenger parking lights right now.

sounds like you popped a fuse. there are 3 sets of fuses

http://www.wkjeeps.com/wk_fuses.htm

YOU MUST DISCONNECT THE BATTERY WHEN EVER PLAYING WITH A GC Wiring!

look for a write up from Frankie (xoxSTUGOYSxox) he and a few other have installed those successfully.

also , the resistor goes on the wires to the little tiny bulb, not the big blinker.......

AWESOME, MAN!! Thank you SOOOOOO much. Do you mean it gets hooked to the side marker wires? I'll check right now. I did read the write up but A.D.D. must've had an effect. I'll keep you posted.

Do you have the poz and Neg right? Also I heard you can't wire the resistor in too close to the bulb. Frankie (xoxStugotsxox) And Mario (QBNKID) has them. maybe PM Them if you have any other questions.

put the resistor on that side marker wires for sure.

send stugots a PM. he has them working. Or on the nazi site, search on threads started by ekaz. he got both front and back LED BULBS figured out.

I found it eddie.
_____________From the OP

Finally got the right combination of resistor and tap-in point to get my LED turn signal to work correctly. Need to attach the resistor to the yellow wire leading from the harness to the side marker light instead of the yellow wire between the side marker light and the turn signal. Could never get the white running LED's to turn on before.

I put it on the side marker wires and only the amber worked. just can't seem to get the white lit up. Thats interesting what you say about being to close to the bulb, Nate. How does that affect it?

Re: Someone please Help!!

and if you have HIDs in a 2008 and UP, its a tad different:

RIGHT SIDE:

1) Wire one and of the resistor (any end) to the TOP YELLOW WIRE (there are two) on the connector that goes to the side marker
2) Wire the other end of the resistor to any of the TWO BLACK WIRES (there are two) that go to the connector that holds the LED bulb.

LEFT SIDE (note step 2, this is DIFFERENT from the RIGHT SIDE)
1) Wire one and of the resistor (any end) to the TOP YELLOW WIRE (there are two) on the connector that goes to the side marker
2) Wire the other end of the resistor TO A SEPARATE GROUND (I used one of the bolts on the frame). The connector that holds the LED bulb only has one ground to it not two like the right side. You CANNOT USE THIS black wire. It won't work. Trust me, I tried.

That's it! Now the LED rings white and blinks yellow.

Ed, I was incorrect about the both going to the side. see the diagram i posted. one wire goes to the blink. he grounded the otherone.

Wow! You're good, man. NOW, Layman please. Lol. I'm just confused because when I hooked it up to the side marker, only amber came on and stayed on as if it were an amber bulb only but I need the white still. Where exactly is this drawing telling me to splice? The harness thats clipped to the frame directly behind the headlight? I did it exactly as Frankie explained and it just took a sh*t on me. Lol. I really appreciate your help by the way.

Get the 3ohm and it should work! I had the same prob when I tried them with NO resistors at first!

I'm gonna have to pick one up tomorrow. V-LEDS sent me 6 ohm when I ordered 3 ohm. Charged me for 3 ohm and sent me a 6 ohm.

Also, make sure you really clamp down those connectors! I squeezed me with pliers before shutting them to make sure I had a good connection!
