Need Help No Start.

So I have a 2005 wk with 90,000 miles. I purchased it in November. Havenít had any problems. Until about a month or so ago it would not start. I got some what my mechanic to come check it out. All he did was mess with the starter guessing just hit a an nothing happened. Then he messed with the fuses in the fuse box under the hood then it started up. Heís not much of a talker and I couldnít get any answers out about when he though was going on. Witch sucks. So last night it wouldnít start, So I popped the hood and opened both fuse boxes and checked all the fuses. It started up. didnít drive it the rest of the night. Wake up for work and the Fukn thing wont start again. Tried the same thing nothing happened. Before I take this thing to Chrysler dealer to check it out I wanted to see if anyone on here had any idea. maybe a bad fuse or something I donít know to much about this stuff and I trust the info and facts I get here more than any dick with blue overalls at lest where I live.
:confused::confused:

Will it turn over and just not fire, or a dead click?

Dead Click.
Iv had random times when it wouldn’t start immediately, i turned the key n it would take longer than usual but only like 1 or 2 times and it wasn’t resent or in the last week.

what you can do is hit the starter with a hammer to put the gears back in place but..it will go shortly..your better off just buying the piece brand new for about 120 bucks and then having someone install it for another 150..easy fix good luck..

HAHAHAHAHA hit the starter on a hemi... your so funny... you cannot even hardly see the thing let alone swing something at it lol.

Yes it is more than likely the starter. A job that unless your VERY comefortable tearing stuff apart I would just get it to a shop and have them do it. Its REALLY tight in there.

Will it jump start? If you can get it running and limp it to Auto Zone or some place that can check the battery while it's still on. I'm not saying it's not the starter, but average Hemi battery life is about 3 years, and it's the easist to diagnose and replace. In January, I had some dead clicks and had a starter in hand ready to get down. Decided to jump start it and limp to Auto Zone and they tested the battery as faulty. Got a Sears Die Hard Gold and it's been trouble free since then. I'm so glad I didn't replace the starter only to still have a bad battery after a middle of the night change out. What's kinda weird is that just testing the battery out of the vehicle showed everything as fine. But with it installed and engine running, it tested bad. I dunno, my WK did some other crazy things with that dying battery.

Thanks. Guess I’m taken it in to get worked on. since I have to get a new started I had been thinking about going ahead and getting a remote starter. Should I do it now, would it save me time or money? This isn’t a mod I need to do but I would like to do it if its only a another 1 or 200$. What you guys think ???

Re: Need Help No Start.

A remote start system is completely remotely operated from the starter, the starter has nothing to do with the system. It is wired in and sends a signal to the starter. Having it done at the same time will likely not save you any money.

Wiggle the wires on your starter before you buy one. My wifes only had corrosion on them. I cleaned em up and it works great now.
