Wk2 Production

Does anyone know how many shifts at the WK2 plant....do they go 24 hours 7 days a week? I ask because I see all times and days for vehicles going I, KZ etc.... Just curious.

Great Question Dan. I was wondering that myself as mine was Built - Pending Inspection today at 12:25 AM EDT. Brilliant Black with Saddle Interior.

Last I heard they were running 2 shifts but I have no idea what the shift durations are.

Great question!

I am curious also. Mine is awaiting inspection as of 10:22pm Friday (3/25) evening...

I am a little concerned about being one of the last vehicles off the line going into a weekend if that is the case.

I've also noticed that most of the other builds go immediately to a different status (at least same day), which leads me to believe the inspectors don't work weekends (it is Sunday now...Milious just updated and it was same status).

Hopefully someone has more info regarding shifts - would be interesting to know...

2 shifts x 8 hours x 5 days = typical.

But, they have been running 9 hour shifts since late January, and they have been running 9 hour Saturday shifts 2-3x per month (including yesterday). Saturday shifts will continue through June, and then resume in August for the 2012 models.

Last day of production for 2011 models is July 8th.

Milious, you never cease to amaze - thanks for the info!

Now, if only you could expedite some rail cars... ;-)

Yep....thanks Milous....good to know the demand is strong and my purchase helped to provide some much needed employment up there in Detroit. I've always bought American made vehicles so hoping that helps.

They need extra shifts because on any given day a number of staff are either stoned or hammered.
