2011 jeep gc overland blown hemi engine

Haven't had the truck for two weeks, has 600 miles on it, 250 which were put on it transferring from another dealer. The engine is smoking like a freight train. Went in the get the satellite radio fixed, which they never got to work and had to order a new unit. Went across the street to get a burger in the drive thru and noticed a plume of white smoke. I was like maybe it another car behind me. Low and behold it was my wife's brand new 50k jeep smoking. Took it back across the street to the dealership and they all come out amazed. The service manager gave it gas and u would have thought a burnout was being done. White smoke billowing out of both pipes. They were dumfounded and said someone must have installed the rings wrong because it's mos def oil blowing by. This is on the hemi equipped 2011 overland 4x4. Two weeks old and not even a full tank of gas. Thank god my pregnant wife wasn't driving it when it blew. It smoked from day one a little and they said it was just settling in cause it was new. I don't even know if I want a new jeep or just get my money back and get her an Mdx. Acura has never let us down...this sucks to say the least so buyer beware!

omg, for 50k, you dont get anything nowadays, but i do agree that it shouldn't be happening...it shouldn't happen on a $15k car, or a $100k car

So demand a new vehicle or at least an entirely new motor but white smoke is not oil, white smoke is a blown head gasket. Sure, it sucks but every car company has some issues, Acura included. Smoke from day one was the warning sign and to have a dealer service manager tell you it's "settling in" then come up with a comment like "installed the rings upside down" tells me either he's the most incompetent service manager on the planet or the story doesn't pass the smell test.

oh, and don't ask for a new engine, definitley ask for a new Jeep, a refund, or if they put a new engine in, ask for money due to depreciaiton

A new engine in a 600 mile vehicle won't really cause any reduction in value, it's a common practice on new vehicles with catastrophic engine failures and happens more often than most people realize. But since this isn't a lemon lawed vehicle (meaning they don't have to destroy it) they may take it back, fix it and put it into their demo fleet and just give him a new one. It will be interesting to see how they handle it.

Thx man for the advice. We want a new truck..first the 730 radio now the engine. Crazy...I will keep you all informed on the process...mineral grey with tan interior...beautiful truck but that is about it...I'm really pissed to say the least

Jeep should fix their error. But cars aren't perfect just ask the Ferrari 458 owners that had their car catch on fire. Least the Jeep is easier to replace than a customized Ferrari.

So let me get this straight no check engine light, no loud knocking noise, engine oil level is good and it still runs just white smoke? I know all the Hemi's smoke white smoke when new. Mine smoked like crazy when it was new for about the first 2,000 miles and it runs good today with almost 4500 miles. Are you really sure its blown?

REALLY, ALL Hemi's? Mine doesn't.

However, the exhaust system does collect moisture, mostly from condensation and there is a fair amount of steam when it's colder outside while the exhaust heats up and burns off the moisture.
