Transmission Pan
I was camping on a 4x4 trail last weekend and as I was driving out I happened to catch a fairly large rock which got caught on the crossmemeber in front of the T-case and was then forced down by the front drive shaft and in turn rolled left rear corner down on the transmission pan causing it to start dumping fluid. Has anyone else had this issue? And does anyone know of anywhere that sales a skid plate to protect this area? So far I can only find ones that cover the T-case, and fuel tank. But I have to hand it to my Jeep it drove 6 miles out of the woods up some fairly rough trails without any issues although I had to get it towed once I was out because there was no way I could drive it home with the amount of fluid I was losing.

I have yet to find a full belly skid for the WJ. You could probably have one custom made though.

Thankfully I have yet to need it. I hit my T-Case skid HARD and I am glad I had it.

I'm glad you were able to make it out without any extra dammage to the tranny.

sorry to hear that. yea our transmission's and engine pans are exposed.
it hard to protect since there not allot of room to mount skids there. but if you weld or get someone to can put rails up and put metal on it

there is this belly skid
but not what you need

I like that. Simple and easy to make. I might have to make one myself. I found when offroading in my stock Jeep, I always seemed to scrape the TC cross-member when cresting the hills. Would be nice to have some assurance of keeping from getting damaged.

I like the underbelly plate. That would definitely help out off roading. Also I got my Jeep back on Friday. The mechanic said he had absolutely no idea how I managed to hit the pan where I did. I just told him I could break an anvil with a rubber mallet. All in all it was about a $200 mistake but a heck of a lot cheaper than a new tranny. I just wish I had the time and the tools so I could have done the work myself. Could have saved a little money.
