Purchasing 2011 OVerland, confused about RER vs RHR

Hello, just found this site so first post. After test driving all kinds of SUV's I ended up putting a deposit on a 2011 overland w/upgraded 730N and HEMI yesterday. After doing some searching and reading, apparently there are 2 types of 730N's floating around out there - the RER and RHR.

My question, how can I tell if the one I'm buying off the dealer's lot is the newer RHR? From what I can tell, the differences are that the RHR has Harmon GPS (vs Garmin in RER), and also includes Sirius Travel Link. Is that correct?

The window sticker SAYS 'Sirius Travel', but call me crazy, I don't trust those stickers  Is there an easy way to identify which unit it is?

Thanks!!

Look at the bottom-right hand corner of the unit. Should be labeled "RHR" or "RER" there.

Both are Harmon.

Correct, both the RER and RHR units are Harmon and are both listed as 730N. The 430N RHB is the Garmin unit.

Bottom right hand corner, thanks! If it is RER, what am exactly I missing out on? Is it worth it to wait for a shipment w/the newer RHR?

From another thread on page 3 of this forum:

The original Media Center 730N (RER) was a CD/DVD/MP3/HDD radio with
6.5" touch screen, GPS Navigation, 30GB hard drive, Sirius Satellite
Radio, Sirius Traffic, Album Artwork, Hands Free Phone, Voice Command of
Radio & Navigation and iPod Control.

The Media Center 730N (RHR) has the features of the original (RER) with
the addition of Sirius Travel Link, USB iPod Control w/Voice Command,
Bluetooth Streaming Audio and Hands Free Texting. The Media Center 730N
(RHR) is tentatively scheduled to be available in the 2011 Jeep Grand
Cherokee models in January, 2011.

If I'm purchasing a $40k+ vehicle I'd want the best available option out there. Call me picky, but I wouldn't settle for an older NAV unit when I could have the newest for a small extra cost. An extra few hundred dollars is nothing in a vehicle that cost more than $40k.

Curious when people say the headunit is "Harmon" do you mean Harman Kardon? If so, why didn't they do the whole jeep? Why split headunit between them and amps/speakers with Alpine?

There's no price difference between the RER and RHR.

Basically, the RHR swaps the dedicated iPod cable in the lower center dash compartment for the armrest located USB cable. It also adds Sirius Travel Link, Bluetooth music streaming, and a couple other minor features. There isn't all THAT much difference between them.

As for the "Harman," that refers to the software that runs on the unit- the 730N (either one) uses a Harman International interface and navigation. The 430N gets its nav capabiliy from Garmin. Harman International isn't necessary Harman Kardon... Harman's Becker subsidiary seems to do more nav stuff than HK does.

That's not entirely true. The RER was a $305 up charge, the RHR is a $465 up charge.
