Nitto 285/60/18 Terra Grappler tires

I saw these tires on a truck yesterday, and they looked impressive. They are 31.5" tall with an 11.5" section width. Reports seem to be generally favorable. Has anyone tried this size on the WK2 to determine fit and clearance?

Same height as the 265,65,18 BFG ATR, only questions will be will the extra width cause any rubbing?

Anyone tried this size yet on the wk2?

Thanks,

I am test fitting this size on a vision warrior 18x8.5 25et wheel next week. If my math is right it should move the tire out of the fender about 1/4" in the front, and be flush in the rear. These wheels are very reasonable, even in chrome (less than $200). The offset/backspace is pretty conservative, and some pictures of them on commanders and look good. Hopefully the fit and quality are decent.

Re: Nitto 285/60/18 Terra Grappler tires

285/60/18 Terra Grapplers do fit with these wheels and QL. Tightest spot is back of the front wheel well, at almost full steering lock. There is 1/8" to the felt wheelwell liner at normal height, just touches it in park mode.

This widens the stance just over 1" per side (31mm) which really fleshes out the look of the WK2. The tires are quiet for AT's, and ride very smooth. Will need to drive and force the suspension through more travel to see if there are more rubs.

Sorry for the mediocre iphone pics, will try to get better ones later.

Definitely a good-looking wheel/tire combination. I initially thought the wheel design was a little too "busy" for my tastes, but I like it more each time I look at it. Good job!

I think the 18 teens look great! It made me question my new wheel combo

The machined spokes against black make these 18's seem bigger than they are. I think this size is a nice choice for those wanting a wide stance and footprint. There are other wheels (kmc thump and monster 35mm offset) that will tuck them in a bit tighter. I've put a few hundred road miles on these now and have not rubbed or touched anywhere even on hard dips and rises. Should be even better clearance at the off-road ride heights.

The nitto tire is just a bit noiser than the original goodyears, but not bad at all. Ride and handling is very good at 36psi, a bit firmer at 40psi which I used for a road trip this weekend.

Discount tire carries them. Very reasonable, $120/wheel right now.

Webspoke,
How does the backspacing on this wheel compare to the stock rim? What's the delta? I'm sorry if you already posted this.

A 285/60r18 is a 31.5" tall x 11.22" wide so I am wondering how it fit with no issues - any rubbing so far? I am looking to put 275/60r20s (33" x 10.83") on my Jeep which has the 2.5" Rocky Road Lift and I do not want to use a wheel spacer and I am not sure I will have enough room when turning. Granted yours aren't as tall as this but are a bit wider.

Do you have any pictures of the inside of the wheel well in park mode? Could you snap some?

Thanks,
