fastman TB, magnaflow muffler.. intake needed on 4.7?

so i had to replace the muffler on my 07 and i purchased the fastman TB for it as well. im wondering on my 4.7, if an intake is necessary at this point? i know that that on almost every jeep vehicle the intake system is very unrestrictive. so i was considering doinga drop in like an AFE and removing the silencer in the intake. would that be suffice?

I have a 4.7L with pretty much same mods you have / will i have. I have the AFE stage 2 intake... i love it.

I'd personally get a superchips tuner with the trans app. It'll make it run much better and get some power too! Not to mention free up more MPG's if your good with your foot.

Go with the AFE, you'll be even more happier with it! It's going to sounds great also!

i have the K&N 63. It gets rid of that stupid muffler so you can see your engine.

x2 on the superchips too.

but what im asking is- will an intake make that much of a difference? i know the exhaust is the most restrictive thing on the WK. would a drop in filter benefit it at all?

Is there a difference between the fastman and FYP ported throttle bodies?

Will the aFe stage 2 CAI fit a 3.7?

No.

I went with Ryan here on the forum and was happy with the end product. Believe he's also cheaper and i think that the port job and bore on stock body is plenty enough.

I went with the K&N gen 57 CAI on my 4.7 and haven't regretted a moment of it. Had the drop-in before...huge difference when you TRULY open up the intake. Opened up the exhaust with just the Flowmaster muffler. It's the ONLY thing restricting your 2.5 in. exhaust. Only other thing you (and I) would need to add is the Super Chips programmer to your set-up. I'm working on that...

SUPERCHIPS w/ the trans programer FTMFW!!! I love mine....well worth the money bro. Get a K&N...I have a AFE, but with the K&N you will get more direct airflow and less clutter in the engine bay. I will be getting mine soon enough.

did just the muffler swap make a difference? Performance and sound?
