Using a Hoist with Quadralift

Would lifting my jeep (w/ quadralift) up with a 4 corner hoist hurt my jeep in any way? Do i need to disable the system before i lift it by pressing the up and down arrows simulatneously?

The reason I am asking is because I will be installing my skid plates this weekend and I don't think I will be able to use the hoist that I just drive up on. My uncle's shop has been pretty busy and i think there will be a car on that particular hoist. Thanks!

Here's the link on wk2jeep.com that'll address how to disable quadralift when servicing:

Thanks for the reply but the link doesn't specifically talk about raising the vehicle with a hoist. The majority of that section (diagnostics) is dealing with issues related to the air suspension components.

My concern is that all 4 wheels will basically be "dangling" when on a 4 point chassis hoist and I just want to make sure nothing bad would happen to the air suspension components.

I don't know about the quadralift but in the late 90's when I owned an Expedition that had 4 corner load leveling, the exact scenario you described was recommended to turn it off. What is the harm in being safe and disabling it?

No, it won't hurt to let the suspension hang down as long as it is disabled. Most all service racks are like that, same when you change a tire.

Thats what i figured. figured it wouldn't hurt to check with the board tho.

Actually, even though you are supposed to disable it, as long as all 4 wheels drop the same amount the system will not kick in so as long as the vehicle's ignition is left off you won't have a problem. The biggest issue is when you are only lifting one side or one corner. In that situation the system tries to raise the other wheels to level it which can cause it to fall off the jack.

But, just to be on the safe side, always disable it when jacking or lifting the vehicle.
