newb question about hid fog

Hello there, I have been using this site for help on my jeep wk and its a great informative site when i wanted to get hid's on my headlights. Xenondepot was having a sale so i decided it would be perfect,
So anyways i managed to also get halo fog projector lights, i had them installed and everything was great until i turned them on.. doesn't match well with my HIDs on the headlights..
so I'm wondering what I need to do in order to get HIDs into my fogs.
will i need to get another hid kit with more ballasts?

thanks for the help in advance

Yup, you'll need another kit for HIDs in your fogs. H10 is the bulb used in OEM fog housings.

If you look at my 8000k fog thread, you'll see how I mounted mine.

Umm wait.

I think the halo fogs your ordered have a different bulb then the H10 model. You should ask steve

Im almost certain the bulb is different for that halo fog setup you have

Re: newb question about hid fog

Yea i figured it was going to be since the halo fogs have the extra wires for the halo ring..

thanks i just sent him an email
btw would anybody be able to show me how to exactly attach the wires to the parking lights for the halo ring

If you look at my reply you'd notice I said OEM housings use an H10 bulb. So if you're using your halo fog housing just pull the bulb and see what type it is (most bulbs have it written on it) or take it to a parts store to get the number. As for the halo ring wiring use a test light on your parking bulb socket to see what the live wire is, just make sure the parking lights are on, use a weather proof tap and run extra wire with heat shrink butt connectors connected to the halo wire to splice into the live wire. The halo is grounded by the fog bulb socket ground wire if the halo uses 1 extra wire, if there are 2 wires for the halo usually the darker or black wire is the ground and if 2 wire hookup is the case use another tap to splice the halo ground wire to the fog bulb socket ground wire so you don't need to run more wiring (looks cleaner too when trimmed to length).

But to answer your original question again, yes you will need another HID kit complete with ballasts. Good news though for the fogs you will not need more relays unless you're anal over wiring overkill. I have HID lows (factory), highs (used relays because of power spike from igniters too much for factory breakers), fogs and reverse (both no relays used and no problems at all)

Easy as pancakes :D
