Sirius Travel Link on their RHR

I read that the new RHR has the Sirius Travel Link capability on several posts, however I have not seen anyone post pics of it working in their Jeep.

Anyone have pics of Sirius Travel link working in their Jeep?
Does the Sirius trial subscription come with Travel Link?
Has anyone paid for the subscription?
Is the convenience worth the $1.99/ month given the same data can be found on smartphones?

Sirius Travel Link $1.99/ month
Sirius Traffic w/ Travel Link $5.99/ month

Might be hard to justify the costs when i can pick up my iphone and get the weather, gas prices (gasbuddy app), movies (who can afford those these days), and sports... well the sports might be pretty good. i think the traffic is worth it. i use it on my garmin very often. it's very helpful but not always accurate.

I already have a lifetime traffic subscription on my Garmin Nuvi, so I just use it.

Your Sirius Trial Subscription should include Sirus Everything, Sirius Traffic, and Sirius Travel Link for one year as does mine (2011 Grand Cherokee).

For those who have the RHR, how intuitive is the NAV with travel link to use? I have the option of getting an Overland off the lot with the RER or possibly having to order one to get the RHR. Is it worth it?

Here you go. Yellow is cookie tracking. Green is no traffic. Red bad traffic.

I have found the Sirius traffic overlay too often wrong. Sitting in traffic on an interstate @ 10 mph for 20 minutes, and Sirius shows green status. Conversely, cruising along at 65+ in a 'yellow' zone. I certainly wouldn't pay for it.

Re: Sirius Travel Link on their RHR

Sirius Traffic is just another tool that I use to choose a route. Sometimes, it works great. I've avoided some bad traffic while communting to and from Manhattan from Connecticut. Sometimes, it sucks. On Manhattan, when the main arteries that run along the east and west sides (i.e., Route 9A and FDR Drive) are congested, Sirius Traffic will route me onto interior streets that are even more congested, because it apparently doesn't have the data to know that they're worse. I'll plan a route with Sirius Traffic off and then use the NAV with Sirius Traffic on. If I doubt any route changes that it proposes, I just ignore them.

Not to hijack the thread, but I think that Sirius Traffic has a new feature. I haven't been on the forum for a while, so please pardon me if it has been discussed already. I have a 2012 Overland with RHR. A couple of weeks ago, overlay maps with close-up lane diagrams began appearing on my NAV display at turns along the route. When I get off route onto unmapped areas (e.g., parking lots), a big red directional arrow appears to point me back to the route. Here's a photo of one of the overlay maps:

Is this truly new or new only to me?

Mine has done this since I got it last year.

The overlay maps never popped up during the first six months that I used the NAV. I wonder what changed.

There's a setting for it somewhere in the menu. Maybe you had it turned off?

My travel link alerted me to a thunderstorm the other night. Pretty cool, but as others have said, wish it was more dependable.
