hong kong radio
anyone try one of these yet?

I was researching a mygig retrofit, but the time you add the mygig nav radio, the BT mirror harness, the retrofit wiring harness, the sirius sat harness, ipod harness, the mygig fill-in adapter plate, are pushing well into or above the 1k territory!

vs this seems to be an all-in-one unit that still looks OEM!

my few concerns with this unit is will it allow you to get map updates, will it accept a factory sirius satellite plug, will it accept the factory reverse camera plug, will it accept the factory mopar kicker amp/speakers, etc

Re: hong kong radio
how do you know its garbage bro? lol

I know double din's are cool...BUT

the accessories KILL you!

the ipod harness, the steering wheel control, the canbus adapter, sirius satelitte adapter

I had a d3 once for the Charger and had fn 600 bucks in freaking adapters!!!

Re: hong kong radio
I have friends from high school that went the cheap route.
looked cool then the screen broke. cheap feeling and the sound quality is poo.

Quick review on the pioneer- records dvd's/music videos on divx format(very high quality)
that format makes everything sound like your listening to it on surrond sound in a movie theater.

mine also has a warranty. those on ebay dont have one/after a discount i got mine for free shipping @ $369 really good deal. made the relay harness myself to bypass the parking brake. as far as adapters. i didnt bother with a few. i figure the steering wheel controls is worth the money.

Re: hong kong radio

Im happy with the sound of the kicker amps and my JL w6 subs

Re: hong kong radio
I just dont want you to spend the same amount and get stuck.

i've seen people buy sh*tty stereos and the last a month.

i had my previous pioneer head unit since 06
now its in my friends f150

Re: hong kong radio
I just figured that unit would be a nice oem integration

as much as I prefer aftermarket double dins like Pioneer offers, I hate the oem integration

they rape you on harnesses

I dont want a full upgrade at all

Im more than happy with the kicker speaker/amp upgrade and the sub box I have....just want a little more options/toys to play with than what the REC nav can offer

Re: hong kong radio
Bro, someone has to do it... but heres my idea. Go to Verizon/ATT get yourself a tablet/Ipad/Xoom. Get the audio/video out harness and have a one of a kind deck w/apps
