Jeep Camaraderie

I currently have a Rubicon. Planning to trade it in for a new WK2 in the next month or two. While I am excited about the GC, I must admit to feeling sad about the idea of letting the Rubicon go. One thing I've always loved, is the sense of camaraderie with other Wranglers on the road. In most situations, you get the friendly wave or peace sign. Is the GC community similar? This would not keep me from getting the GC...but I am admittedly curious. Do all Cherokee owners recognize one another in a similar fashion? Anyone noticed a special recognition about the new WK2 crowd?

I got 1 wave and have had my GC for almost 2 months now.

I do like driving around in my old 94 YJ and waving at people, even my kids get in on it when I forget. :)

Everyone now and then someone driving a Prius flips me off, I think they are offended by the GC. While this isn't the same as what you have with your Wrangler, it is kind of nice just knowing that I am bothering these people. I will buy a Prius as soon as they offer one with a Hemi.

No, no, you misunderstood ... The people in the Prius weren't flipping you off, they were trying to call your attention to the SmartCar stuck in your grill.

I shared these with my 16 y.o. daughter who tests for her full driver's license this Saturday. Her daily driver will be an '04 WJ Limited. She got a kick out of the exchange, especially since we have an overabundance of Priuses and Smartcars in very green Bethesda.

I don't have a WK2 and I don't wave at people, but when I see a Jeep trying to turn into traffic I always yield and let them in, I usually park next to other Jeeps too :)

Yeah, I have an 02 GC. Every time I see another person driving with a GC, I look and say, "Thats a good man." Haha Jeeps the way to go unless you can afford a Porche

I waive, most don't. They suck!

Wrangler people wave at each other (I had one too for a few years)....not sure if the Wrangler unlimited folks do though since it isn't the same experience per se. GC's....we just share beer!

I had a 1998 Grand 5.9, you could always tell them apart from other grands. I would wave and get a wave from other 5.9's. I think the newer ones are not always bought by Jeep people. Not always the case but more so then wranglers. I did have an Overland next to me at the light and and he waved and gave me a thumbs up. I have a Jeep garage sticker and my avatar "bruce" for a hitch cover. And yes I always cut other Jeep owners lots of slack and cut ins. It's the Scion's that I get the overwhelming urge to tow strap and drag around.....

Hence the traffic tie ups on I270 during commuting hours! :)

Dam C cell powered go karts can't get out of their own way!

FWIW my Daughter and my Wife hate them because they get into the HOV lane on I66 and do the double nickel (probably floored) and hold everybody up (FWIW I66 has a 70mph speed limit out by me sliding down to 55 the closer you get to Sodom on the Potomac, err I mean DC!)

x2, most GC drivers around me are either 70+ and don't care about anybody ese, or they are renting the jeep, and are from out of the country, and they probably wonder why some guy is waving at them
