Air suspension questions

I was just wondering from those that have had QL for a while what would be normal noises this system would make. I really have not heard anything other maybe a quick ping that just last less than second when I start sometimes. I am just wondering because I read somewhere you might hear the compressor runnning sometimes after the vehicle is shut off. I would would just like to know for the future if I did have a problem what a sign would be. Thanks.

I just got my Overland tonight. When I raise or lower it, I definitely hear an air sound from the rear seat area. Sounds like high pressure air moving into a tank. It only happens for a second, but it's there. Not sure if this is normal or not.

I hear the pump when it's leveling and a "ring" from the tank in the rear when it closes the valves.

This is likely the same sound that I am hearing

Hey, i've had mine for just over a week now. I parked in my garage, turned the ignition off, and got out. Now, i spent some time in the garage just looking at thing and admiring. Surely enough, after about 5 minutes i heard an electronic whirrring noise and the front lowered very slightly (i did not have it in park mode, left it at normal height before getting out)... so this must have been the compressor running... bingo! I can duplicate it everytime. The pamphlet that came along with the owners DVD, talks to this and says that it is normal.

Now as for that air discharge noise coming from the rear that the rest of you are talking about... thank you! i thought i was going crazy or something. It's starting to sound that this is in fact normal.

I'm going to post a youtube video later of the sound. Can other Overland owners comment. The noise is fine with me as long as its normal and we all have it.

When mine is changing height and the radio is off, you can indeed hear a "phfssh" of gas being moved between tanks. That's normal. Sometimes, when the vehicle is parked, the compressor will kick on momentarily to keep things level. That's also normal.

I tend to keep the radio on so my wife can't hear the "phfshh" of gas ... but then that's really an entirely different subject.

I drive down to the lake front in Whitby frequently and just sit in the Jeep viewing the water. After about 8-10 minutes of the Jeep sitting (off), I do hear a soft muffled "pop" from each corner, a few minutes appart. That's the only sounds I hear from the air suspension.
