Borla

I got my Borla exhaust installed and so far I am very impressed. This is what I thought a Hemi should sound like. The install isn't hard the biggest problem was getting the factory exhaust off but that is really pretty easy. My only problem with it is I have been going from light to light with WOT just to listen to that Hemi sing. Going to be visiting the local gas station a little more frequently. Next on the list is CAI.

Thumbsup z06vette, couldn't agree with you more (though my wife objects). See my Borla/Bwoody CAI video clip in this subforum. Highly recommend the Bwoody Velocity Intake as well.

The other kick arse part of the Borlas are the 4" tail pieces. Keep 'em looking good with Nevr Dull about 1x monthly.

When I was looking I could only find it at borla so I got it from them. It took them 6 weeks to get it to me.

Re: Borla

Yea someone reviewed the Corsa and said there is no drone, any drone on the borla?

moosehead 04-17-2011 11:44 AM

There is a bit of drone in MDS with the Borlas, usually only nitceable when coasting (no gas) at highway speeds. It's not intrusive and can't be heard over low to moderate stereo volume.

From other's clips and feedback, Corsa seems to have balanced moderate growl with no drone, where Magnaflow is least aggressive, and Borla most aggressive. Gibson also seems to let 'em roar. YMMV.

Re: Borla

Im really contemplating getting an exhaust system this summer. The factory sounds pretty decent when you really get on it...but i want something with more a of a rumble to it...but not TOO much. An SRT8 was revving his engine at me yesterday and it sounded really good. I didnt have much to give back...so i just gave him a thumbs up. lol.

I am not familiar with the "drone" term that you guys are talking about. Is that like a constant hum I would hear while driving? Would you recommend the Borla system over another one?

I Had the Borla exhaust installed, I love it but there is drone and at slow speeds it is annoying sounds like a leak but when you get the opportunity to "punch it" she screams...

Re: Borla

Interesting about the Borla being the loudest. They are (or were) usually the softer sound choice.
I know when I got my Borla on my Hemi Magnum (in Borlas defense they have two systems for my car 112 and 125 and I got the quieter 112) the CAI made more of an impact on sound then the cat back and the MDS drone is zero.
Anyone have any pics of the under bumper shot? I'm not sure I'm so jazed on the Corsa angled muffler look.

Borla clips and vid shot of the rear in below link. You may need to freeze frame a few portions to get the view you're looking for, but it is a clean undercarriage mount. Also has cabin clip.
