Shutting off Auto Door Locks

Interested in shutting off auto door locks on my Laredo 4x4 with v6.
Tried cycling ignition 4 times and then with it on run, hit lock once.
Then tried cycling 5 times, then with it on run, hit unlock twice.
Then tried cycling 5 times, then with it on run, hit lock once.

Feature is not available on dash, just auto unlock.

Any suggestions?

Re: Shutting off Auto Door Locks

The feature is available through the EVIC.

Quote:

Automatic Door Locks — If Equipped
If this feature is selected, your door locks will lock
automatically when the vehicle speed is above 15 mph
(24 km/h) and all doors are closed. This feature will reset
whenever a door is opened.
This feature is selectable and can be turned on or off.
Refer to “Electronic Vehicle Information Center (EVIC)/
Personal Settings (Customer-Programmable Features)” in
“Understanding Your Instrument Panel” for further
information.

Auto Lock Doors
When this feature is selected, all doors will lock automatically
when the vehicle reaches a speed of 15 mph
(24 km/h). To make your selection, press and release the
SELECT button until a check-mark appears next to the
feature showing the system has been activated, or the
check-mark is removed showing the system has been
deactivated.

It does not show that feature on my EVIC.

Only shows Auto Unlocks on EVIC.

It says "If equipped", so if your EVIC doesn't show the choice, then you don't have the feature.

That's where I'm confused, if his doors lock automatically then he has that feature.

Re: Shutting off Auto Door Locks

They do lock at 15mph and the EVIS has the AUTO UNLOCK feature that I can turn off.

But nothing in the EVIS on the AUTO LOCK. I checked the thing multiple times moving up and down the menu.

Was just checking to see if they had it now setup like the old system (turn on and off multiple times and hit lock / unlock)?

Sounds like a trip to the dealer. Here's what's displayed on my Overland EVIC

Mine definitely has the choice in the EVIC. It sounds like you need the EVIC reprogrammed by the dealer.

Or another thought, pop88, where do you live. Do you live in some jurisdiction where it is illegal to turn that feature off?

Well, I'm from Chicago, so that shouldn't be a problem. Just got it but I already noticed the chugging if I drop it into gear right after start. Probably need to get it updated to the latest programming. Thanks and I'll keep you posted. -Gary
