3.6 L Chrysler Pentasar engine problem

Has anyone heard of any major problems with the new 3.6 L pentastar engine?

Nope. So far, so good. The board has only heard one report of a 3.6L engine failing, and the cause on that is suspect (could be hydrolocking).

It will be years before we know the long term reliability of the powerplant, but it's looking very good so far.

Engineer friend of mine was looking for new family vehicle and made his decision almost soley based on researching the 6 cylinder engines available in 2011 cars. He chose a Chrysler with the Pentastar.

No engine problems at 19K. Have had an AC leak fixed and a water pump replaced, and the AC isn't working right now, so back to the dealer next week...:(
