Another Fine Obsession

3 Attachment(s)
Brought this little beauty home this morning! 61 days from order to taking delivery. Washed, clayed the paint, sealant and buffing. . . it'll never look this clean again! Rain tomorrow, but I'm driving everywhere possible. Thoroughly thrilled. . . and so far everything Nav/Sat/RHR, etc. works. Hardest part was getting the HomeLink to talk to my garage opener, but a review of the manual and a glass of Three Olives vodka fixed that! :D

Where do I get in line for the clay and wax??? :D

Wait til you spend some time behind the wheel. It's better than even looking at it.
My mg summits in garage not nearly as clean as yours. After weather gets through nc first coat of wax goes on.

^ lol You do know that Jeeps bound for Alaska are built on a special assembly line? Much s l o w e r but built better. . . because y'all know how to shoot pretty darn well and you'll cross thousands of miles of snow-packed tundra, pulled by ornery, hungry dogs, to get deserved revenge. ;)

Question on the waxing... i need to do mine today (if it clears up outside). what does the clay do that the wax does not do? i got some wax (i think it's mothers) and was just going to wash then wax it but if the clay does something good for the car long term i would throw that into the mix too.

Clay is used to pull imbedded dirt away from the paint leaving as close to a perfectly smooth surface as possible. It's not that tough to do but you need the proper lubricant and plenty of it. You can clay a vehicle at any point and if your unsure of the process I would suggest doing a conventional wax job now while you research and purchase the proper materials. There's no real harm in waiting or in protecting the existing surface while you wait to clay it.

One of the better sources so detailing supplies is Autogeek (http://www.autogeek.net/).
Here's a good "How To" article. http://www.autogeek.net/detailing-clay-bar.html
Here's a great kit to get started with: http://www.autogeek.net/wolfgang-polishing-pal-kit.html

Congrats and best of luck ! I never second guessed my choice of Mineral Grey. I see you added mud flaps. What other accessories (if any) do you plan to install ?

Don't forget the coin holder
