Anyone have pics of the output and pattern of HID fogs in 99'-03 Jeeps?

I'm looking to replace my fog lamps for my 01' and am not sure if the beam pattern is good in the stock "fluted" fogs or if I should go with some clear ones I've found

I will say this. Honestly in my 04, the 3k halogens I had produced a better output then the 3k HIDs I know have in there. Not sure if I can speak for the 99-03, but the 04 the housing definitely isn't meant to have HIDs in there, as far as output is concerned. Just like stock housing headlights aren't meant for HIDs LOL. But yeah the look nice and all, but the output definitely decreased.

the pattern will be different for all since people play with the aiming of the fogs.
stock they were aimed a bit back.

if you want more light can get 35W hids or do like other have and just put 9005 bulbs in them and aim them right.

i have done the 9005 bulbs and reaimed them, the light output is much better now since its brighter covering more ground and i aimed them to fill the void between the jeep and low beams

@mrjaydeeone: Yeah, I'm sure the 04' fog housings aren't very good, it seems like a rather small housing.

@Sskafar: I appreciate it, I look forward to seeing them.

@straty1987: Yeah, no doubt aiming plays a big part in that, I was mainly just curious on the output of them, not really how an individual has them aimed. But I definitely want to put either a 35w or a 55w HID in there. But I would like my HID's to either match or go with a 35w 3000k from them and maybe use either Lamin-X or I've heard some people have gotten better results with Grafixpression's yellow film, which appears to give a deeper yellow.

Here is the light output of just the 35w 5k HID projector fogs and the output of the Generatoin 3 35w 5k HID's headlights. As you can see even though same watt HID bulbs the Generation 3 headlight housing is far superior then these aftermarket fog projectors I retrofited with an HID kit. They came stock with a halogen bulb

your fogs look like there not light up the ground allot. the ground informant of your jeep should be lite by the fogs.

the projection fogs on eBay use old projectors that don't have great output

Yes I realize that. I stated in my reply that despite them having the same wattage hid bulbs the fog light projectors have a poor light output compared to the gen3 headlight projectors. If I known before hand I would not have purchased them. My stock light housing was trashed and thought they looked good on the vehicle but am disappointed in the output. Might have to go with something else down the road but for now I will live with it since my headlights are plenty bright on there own.

@Sskafar:

1) Thank you for the pictures

2) Damn the projectors look sharp on your Jeep and they both go well together! They look like they came stock lol

3) I like where the projector output pic was taken but you should try to find maybe an empty road late one night and snap a pic of the output.

4) The fogs look good but I'll probably go with a stock replacement

@straty1987:

1) Since the projectors from the Ebay fogs are sub-par what do you suggest? I can think of a couple options.

A. Stick an HID capsule in the stock fluted fog or an aftermarket replacement fluted fog

B. Stick an HID capsule in an aftermarket clear fog

C. Go with the projector fog and live with it

There is one other option...but I have NO idea how they'd perform...

lol what a joke, I saw those about 3 days ago for the first time. I would say from a distance they would kind of look cool, performance would be god awful and I wouldn't recommend them. You're going to lose a lot of performance.
