Has anyone Painted the Calipers yet?

Has anyone taken the plunge and painted the brake calipers of a WK2 yet? or plan to?

I forum searched and didn't catch any hits.

I was looking at mine today thinking that a set of black brembo's would look really good. i have not see it done yet.

There's a couple of good threads in the visual section of JG, but this one is great.

I did this on my Galant Ralliart a couple years back. After about 7 months, the paint started chipping off and it looked just awful. Maybe I didn't do it properly, but its something to consider.

That name seemed familar so I searched my e-mail and low and behold I contacted them back in August and its $125 a caliper plus shipping there and back. 500+

Thanks but no thanks :)

Just to expensive to paint calipers even though the pictures on their website are close to amazing..

Moose, thanks for the thread I heard of G2, haven't decided if I even want to do this, just didn't know if anyone has yet to WK2 or who plans on it if so..

Even though this isn't a JG link ; Scroll to post #4

Check out this person who did their calipers with dupli-color spray. They did such a good job its border line fastforward quality after their wetsand and polish.. Great DIY job IMO as its layered spray and no brush marks. For the lazy people who don't want to look at the write up-

you can spray the G2 as well.....

those look awesome...but Ive seen 10x the posts of people that say the duplicolor will chip off after less than a year....

Its all in the prep really...and finish

The G2 is spray able even though its resin based? I'll have to look into it, thanks. What made you spend the dough and send them to fastforward and not try it yourself? Also what color did you do Scott? You even went without a vehicle for a week plus probably.. :)

yes...there is instructions for spraying from what i remember.

At the time...eli at fastforward had a contact that did an aerospace coating...its SUPER thin and bullet proof. It doesnt hold in heat like powdercoat etc. They are still perfect after 3 years. The color is similar to brembo gold......and I went with red lettering. They also completely rebulit them with all new internals....so it was like getting new brembos. I didnt have to go without my vehicle...I was doing the brembo conversion to a WK....so I just sent them off and then converted when I got them back.
