tire size on X Factor lift

so i ordered the RK X Factor lift and it says 31" tires should fit on there just fine... ive heard guys saying its not as tall of a lift as it advertises so i was wondering if someone who has that kit could possibly chime in... I am not sure if i should get a 265 or 275... 265 equates to a 30.5" tire and 275 equates to a 31" tire... any suggestions? I would like to go with the 275's but i dont want any rubbing, thanks.

Also, im not doing any rock crawling just some dirt driving and snow... im 90% on pavement.

Thanks Guys,

Dave

I have 265/70/17 and they rub. I honestly wouldn't go any larger. But with this setup I am at an overall height of 31.6". So it's plenty.

I haven't spent a summer of wheelin' in the mountains with it yet, but I'm running BFG All-Terrain 265/70-17's with 1.5" Spidertrax spacers. I only get rub during tight turns in parking lots, but I have yet to finish my pinch weld mod. I notched/hammered the weld, but have yet to finish the inner liners.

you guys know what the difference is in the middle number? i've been looking at size 65 and all you guys are running 70's... is it the width of the tire?

Re: tire size on X Factor lift

First number = width
Second number = height (profile of tire)

Re: tire size on X Factor lift

^ that's pretty much it.

The second number is the aspect ratio. So if it is a 65 then the sidewall would be 65% of the width, which is measured in millimeters. generally the larger the second number is the taller the tire.

^^ X3

265 and 275 are the width. the second number is the one you need for height. third is obv rim size due to the "R" infront

You should also be aware that diffrent tire manufactures/tread are slightly different. I am running 275/70/17 and new the tire size was 32.6". I am not using the x factor btw

more like 245 70. you can go a little wider on the stock rims. 245's fit.

That would be a good choice. You won't be disappointed!
