First full weekend, 500kms and awesome background

After 10 weeks to the day, I got my 2011 WK2, Overland, V8, Mineral Grey last Saturday. I picked it up 2 hours after an all night flight from Maui to Edmonton. No way was I going to sleep. I picked it up at 10am when the dealer opened. I got to put about 80km on it between Saturday and Sunday. Then Monday I had to go to Calgary for work until Thursday. So today, for Easter, my Mother and I headed to The Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge. I put about 350km of highway driving at about 120km/hr the entire way. What a vehicle!

My mother was very impressed. She was in my previous C300 and she drives a 2009 Volvo C30 T5. She loved the ride compared to my father's previous Tundra and current Chevy 2500HD. She has a bad back and the combined seats, QL and lumbar support were amazing. I'm more than impressed.

We got to Jasper and I haven't seen many WK2 in Edmonton yet (go figure). But in Jasper I parked behind a White Gold Overland V8 with Saddle interior from Calgary and saw another in white. Jasper is the place to be with the WK2:)

Anyway, so far no issues what so ever! Love it. Here are a few pics from my BB Torch:)

Even the Elk where like...Damn! Enjoy!

Yep....black interior. I had grey in the MB before, loved it, but wanted black this time:)

Great pics - brings back wonderful memories of driving the Banff-Jasper highway, which is one of the most scenic roads in the world.

What a treat! Hawaiian vacation and then home to a brand new Wk2!

(OK, I have to ask ... did you try the West Maui loop?)

Pics were so great that I dug around TripAdvisor, then chatted with my wife. She tells me she has several relatives in Alberta, so we just might get up there -- after we get the new (2012) Overland, naturally.

You should get a job with the Alberta tourist bureau!

I think Jeep and Travel Alberta should do something together. So many great places. I'm spoiled. Going to Jasper is common and so is Banff. I also work for a company that owns the Fairmonts in those locations:) I'd go either way, but it makes it so much easier.

You'd love it here. Just wait till I upload the pictures from the Columbia Icefields that I took earlier today.
