Mobil 1 Advanced Fuel Economy 0W-20

With climbing fuel prices, Nice Syn Oil to Consider.

Anyone using the Mobil 1 Advanced Fuel Economy 0W-30 Oil ???
http://www.mobiloil.com/USA-English/..._1_0W-30.aspx#

Correction of Post... Oil 0W-20 Oil, for HEMI requirement of 20 weight Oil.
http://www.mobiloil.com/USA-English/...l_1_0W-20.aspx

Sounds like a worthy Oil to explore per their Online Calculator.
Saves an estimated $90 per year, 23 Gal Gas per Year, or $ 08 cents a Gal based on my input values: $4 per gal, 20K per yr, 17mpg.

Thought it looked interesting, gains are small but beneficial.

For the debate of 5W-20 requirement; not my debate, make your own decision! It exceeds the 5W-20 requirement with 0W-20... normally indicating a higher level / quality base.

The only problem is you have a Hemi and that takes 5W-20, not 5W-30.

I recommend Pennzoil Ultra 5W-20 if you want the best protection and energy conservation. http://www.pennzoil.com/#/motor-oil/pennzoil-ultra

The 2011 Hemi requirement is 5w-20, not 0w-20.

From the owner's manual:

Quote:

NOTE:
Vehicles equipped with a 5.7L engine must use
SAE 5W-20 oil. Failure to do so may result in improper
operation of the Multiple Displacement System (MDS).

Refer to “Multi-Displacement System” in “Starting and
Operating” for further information.

Lubricants, which do not have both the engine oil certification
mark and the correct SAE viscosity grade number, should not be used.

MDS works fine with the 0-20 Mobil 1, my Jeep dealer concures.

You're Correct.
Manual states that... it's focused on the 20 weight for MDS operations.
The 5W or 0W has no bearing on the MDS operation.

Yep, there's no reason to suspect it wouldn't since the high number is the one that effects MDS. I still don't understand the reason people insist on going against the manufacturer when it comes to oil? Seems everyone thinks they are a petroleum engineer

From what I've read on Bob Is The Oil Guy Forum, MDS in the 5.7L works better with synthetic oil. All 0W-20s are synthetic. So yeah, go for it!

Re: Mobil 1 Advanced Fuel Economy 0W-20

Returned from 4500 mile trip that included Mountain & Off road driving. Began trip with 1400 miles on WK2. Prior to trip, changed break-in Oil to Mobil 1 Adv Fuel Economy 0W-20.

Checked Oil each morning (2 weeks) and oil remained near "Full Mark" the whole time... eventually slightly lower than Full Mark... est 1/8-1/4 mark.

Ran 65-80 mph on Highways, with several hard WOT bursts: 45 to 100/110 to overtake traffic and to vary RPM & Load for variance in engine break-in.

Mileage maybe to early to judge due to very low milage, but I didn't notice any difference. I continued to avg 18-19mpg, with some highway only Tanks producing 21 mpg. Not associated with Oil, but I did notice the Hemi "appeared" to get better mileage cruising 70-80 compared to cruising 60-70.

Running on Mobile 1 Gold 0-20 and love it. Smother and quieter.
