Got it!!

After a few frustrating days trying to get the dealer to expedite my delivery from the rail yard to the dealer, I picked up my new Overland on April 21, 2011.

I f@<king love this Jeep. It rides awesome, the power is great and I just love the way the green and saddle go together.

I did, however have to take it in for service already:(

After only about 160km (100 mi) I got the message in the EVIC "Air suspension requires immediate service/repair"

So after reviewing the threads on here I took it to the service department and got it sorted out.
Again like others have experienced it seemed to throw some codes and once they were erased it seems to be fine. I had no problems with the operation just the message in the EVIC.

One thing the service advisor said, struck me as kinda funny. He told me there was some issues on the STAR thing that some people had suspension failures due to the connections getting wet. So I asked if I should do what the Jeep did in the commercial, all he could say was...hmm...yea....that seems weird....well just take note of the conditions if you have any issues with the suspension. Has anybody else heard of this. I can't imagine electrical connections that are exposed to the elements not being sealed.

I'll have some pics up when my Canon comes back from the repair shop.

Cheers,

Jim

First off... Congratulations!!!!

The comment by the service manager also strikes me as odd. While we've heard of some people hydrolocking their engines, I can't remember any from electrical connections getting wet. If you speak to the service manager again, I'd like to know what connections he's referring to and where they are located.

I believe the connections he was referring to were at the pneumatic shock/strut. He said they can get wet and cause individual struts/shocks to lose connection and malfunction.

I actually had a cohiba when i got it home lol...The S.O. thought I was nuts as I just sat there and smoked it with a few beers while taking in the glory that is JEEP

Re: Got it!!

Looking forward to some pics. I hear you on the Dealer delivery issue - I too had to push my dealer for 2 1/2 Days to expedite Delivery from the Rail Yard.

Overall, I'm loving the Jeep. I haven't had any issues with the Air Suspension. It did come from the Factory with one Jeep Door Sill and one Dodge Door Sill though - gave the service guys a chuckle.

I have had one issue with my Overland and found out that the Drivers Side Rear Axle Boot has a cut in it and was leaking grease.

We had taken it to Red Deer for a test drive and at one point we heard something bang under the vehicle. The next day I noticed a small amount of Grease on my Garage Floor near the Drivers Rear Axle and took it to the dealer.

My Dealer found a cut in the Rear Axle Boot and they have to order a new Axle (he suggests not to replace just the Axle Boot). It will take 10 days to come from the US but the say I can still drive it on short trips and keep an eye on it.

I've added the Illuminated Jeep Door Sills and the Grand Cherokee Door Sill Plates as well as the GC Slush Mats and the Jeep Molded Splash Guards over the past week.

I'm still waiting for the Owners and the RHR Manual, so perhaps that will shed some additional info on the operation of the Jeep.

Regards, Bill.

Congrats on the new ride. I also have the Natural Green, but saddle must make it even cooler.
