Crusing Around and ....

Nothing broke, nothing went wrong. I had a great day in the WK2 today and almost everyday I've owned it since Sept..

I understand the community is for help, dilemmas, mods, troubleshooting, etc.. but all we ever see is "This broke, that broke, is this normal, people questioning their purchase decision due to something malfunctioning" etc

everyone has an opinion and is more then welcome to ask, post, question, vent... thats what this forum is all about.. and its enjoyable reading. Aside for the select few members with extreme shudder issues (I'd be pissed to I will admit)

But for once, aside from the posts of all the unique and amazing mods being done by many members I'll be a Positive reenforcement;

I do not regret my purchase, I understand issues occur (I think Im the only one who had the EVIC replaced already, a sunroof leak and now still water in the battery box) however its an amazing piece of machinery under a ton of stress and tight tolerances, stuff happens, you fix it for FREE at a hopefully helpful dealer and move on if all is good!

Post your "stories of success" if you'd like!

haha

+100 to Wk2

Disclaimer- I am not bashing anyone, I am not discouraging posting, I encourage growth! I am just trying to show not all is BAD about the WK2, even though most things we read on this forum lately are troubleshooting issues.

I love the jeep, even though its dealership bound tomorrow, I know they'll fix the issue and back to normal.

All vehicles experience a need to be tweaked from time to time. Mine is no different. I'm happy regardless.

This jeep rocks!!!

Can't wait to take it in the sand in just a few short weeks when in hatteras.

....and if I may add.

My first WK (05') early production model had the dreaded sunroof leak (twice,) blower motor went bad after 1 month as a new car, and a host of other issues.....

...I still loved that thing. Issues do occur, and they are frustrating. I really believe that the dealership makes the biggest impact in our life with our vehicles.

....and its not just jeep. My real love, my X5, had the main iDrive brain replaced, screen replaced, (2) sets of exterior molding, a $1,7K front stabilizer replaced, countless TSB's and reprograms, and more that I have forgotten about...and yet I still loved the vehicle. The dealership was fantastic about it (though BMW refused to lemon it unfortunately - and the problem still existed!)

Nothing is perfect, no matter if we spend 30+K or 76K on a vehicle.

That being said, I look forward to my WK2 in 3 days.

Great thread, J13. I love my WK2, too.

I've used mine mostly as an around-town cruiser so my MPG has not been phenomenal, though I have seen an uptick since I started putting mid-grade fuel in it exclusively. Best I've seen so far in this driving scenario is around 16 and I'm fine with that.

This past weekend we went on a 1200 mile combo college tour/beach trip, and she performed beautifully. Comfort, style, amenities, technology, entertainment-- we had it all by the bushel. And, I was getting off watching the fuel economy tick upwards in the EVIC during the extended highway portion! I didn't "cheat" by resetting it under optimal conditions; I just let it ride from the very beginning of our trip and watched it climb and climb over the four days. By the time I got home, it was over 22 MPG. Not bad for a Hemi clipping along at 75-80 mph with the AC chilling us down (granted the terrain was mostly flat in the areas of NC/SC/VA where we were).

Mine has been to the dealer twice. Once to replace one of my 20" wheels due to a very minor cosmetic blemish, and once for an oil change. Unfortunately I also suffered a rock chip in my windshield that was repaired but grew during the road trip, so that'll have to be replaced, but it's hardly a gripe about the vehicle. This has been a great ride.

I had the dreaded air ride problem (back dropped and front went up) I disconnected the battery and reset it. Everythings been fine since and Ive used the offroad seettings alot lately. The dealer still wants me to bring it in to have checked.
But what I'm getting at is I am still completely satisfied with my Overland even with this happening.
Absolutley awesome vehicle, On and Off road

Love my WK. 87,000 miles going strong. Few small problems here and there but what child doesn't give you problems?
