who is going to buy it?

I know there's lots of talk from the community about likes and dislikes.... but I'm curious who honestly plans to purchase a 2012 srt8 Jeep this year.

For me its either an overland or srt8 and since the overlands I like are priced at 46,800 I don't think a few grand more will really matter. Even the mileage is comparable. I'm 99% sure I will place an order this summer. Anyone else?

I plan to get one in black with all options except DVD, but only if the MSRP comes in with all of those options at about $50,000 or less and I can purchase it for $46,000 or less. Otherwise it will be out of my price range and I really do want the panoromic sunroof, advanced cruise and blind spot monitoring, extra leather trim on door panels and middle console, power liftgate and I thnk based on the way the packages are grouped, to get the 730N, I'll have to get the upgraded sound system, which sounds good to me.

Same as above post. I managed to be the first on the preorder list at my dealership.

I am waiting on available colors, 8-speed tranny (if it happens) and the new 8" navi that is in the charger (IIRC, or its the 300)...I think they will do those in 2012 or 2013 so I will more than likely wait untill 2012-13 to place my order...but it will be placed at some point in the next 2 years if they make most of those happen :)

Doubtful that I will upgrade given need for moderate trail and deep snow, but I'll admit to checking Jeep.com this morning looking for colors and configs. Thankfully, nothing available yet. Heh.

Re: who is going to buy it?

Initially, I wanted to get the Overland but looking at the SRT8 now. I'm starting to like it because you don't lose any major options like ventilated seats, distronic etc. and the gas-mileage doesn't seem to but MUCH worse than on the 5.7.

Won't be buying one in the near future though. Probably MY 2014 or '15 - after the mid-facelift.

Re: who is going to buy it?

I'm in. I had a 2006 SRT8 and went through all of the intial hype of trying to get one which was a royal PIA...won't do that again.

On the fence about the 5 speed in the 2012...that thing is solid and reliable but an 8 speed?

So once all the dust settles - I will get mine. Mineral Grey with Gunmetal wheels....all options.

It's either that or the CTS-V Wagon, used RS4, or M3. Waiting on reviews and see it in person etc...

I was hoping for 520 out of the 6.4 mill...guess we will see what the real story is once it hits the mag review circuit for real times.

Styling is growing on me - LED's are a bit of a (3M tape stick on) dissapointment...lots of chrome where it shouldn't be and not a fan of the gloss black (should be matte black) One other thing which nobody really mentioned was weight. How much does this weigh and what did they do to specifically save weight if anyhting or did they just stick a fatter mill in it. I know the first gen had a lightened transfer case for example...just wondering. Sometimes just adding power is a lazy mans engineering philosophy.

I think it is beyond advanced compared to my 06 - which now looks like a relic next to this. For those folks that still have the first gen and are sour on this one...you have a live solid axle in the rear....cmon...there is no comparison with the bones of the 2012 - don't like the style fine but in terms of tech...no contest.

I will make up my mind in the next few months after the reviews are out etc...

I need a car - and this is def on the list.

not gonna happen. MSRP on your sticker or $500 below that if you are lucky.

I'm 75-25 in favor of buying. Still have a bit of CTS-V sedan envy and great deals are going to hit on those starting 4th of July just like they did last year. Deals might even be better than last years due to inventory. Over 35 of them on lots within a 100 mile radius of me. Last year I had the following deal on the table for a fully loaded V minus polished wheels: father's GMS price, minus rebates, minus $16,500 trade in on the GTO (I own it outright), minus $5000 down payment, WITH 0% financing...out the door at $46,250 ($71k MSRP). I didn't buy because they wouldn't work with me on getting the polished wheels ($900 option versus $2800 bought through parts!!) and no one had the red I wanted so I was settling on my second choice with painted wheels. Too much bread for that.

I'm waiting to see if anyone will honor the chrysler affiliate pricing 1% under invoice....

I think I'll get one at invoice or below easily. I'm in the midwest, not in the northeast.
