For all those who ask about 265/70/17

They do fit without a lift, and with absolutely no rubbing...

...as long as you do the pinch weld mod, and have AEV Pintlers, and Kelly Safari TSR's, lol.

For some reason, I could never find a definitive answer to the question "do 265/70/17's fit without a lift and without rubbing?" so I tried it out, and it works perfectly.

I'm still going to lift it though, to avoid bottoming out offroad.

I love them!

Inside the fender well, behind the front tires, there is a bulge in the plastic fender liner.

Behind that plastic liner bulge, there is a pinch weld, where separate parts of the Jeep are pinch-welded together. With larger tires, turning full right causes the front passenger-side tire to rub this area, and turning full left causes the front driver-side tire to rub this area.

You can fix this problem by cutting into the pinch weld, and bending it over to flatten it.

does anyone know if the pinch/weld is needed if you were to throw on some 1.5" spacers?

I have that setup and BARELY rub at full turn. It may be a simple fix of pinning back the inner wheel well plastic though.

I have AEV Pintlers, which is similar to having 1.5" spacers, and I had to do the pinch weld mod.
