How do I change Powersteering Fluid?

Well, I put a new engine in my wife's 3.7L WK. Everything with the swap went pretty smooth. Intial start up went good except the powersteering pump started chattering. I figured air got in the system and low PS fliud caused the chatter since some fliud drained out when I was swapping engines.... I topped it off with regular powersteering fluid from Autozone.... Ooops! the chattering is worse.

Upon my research (after the fact) I've come to realize these PS pumps only like Mopar PS fluid.... I'd like to empty all the fluid and start over. Can anyone tell me the easiest way to do this?

Thank you!

Normally I get a cheap transfer pump from harbor freight and pump the reservoir out and refill with fresh fluid to the proper level then run the engine and turn the wheels lock to lock while the front tires are elevated and the cap is left off and repeat as many times as you like until your satisfied.

Yeah, I don't know that you can fully drain it without removing the lines at the steering box. I empty the reservior (turkey baster works well) with every oil change and top off with fresh fluid.

Yeah, it's not cheap, that for sure!

Luckily for me, I don't put a lot of miles on mine, so my oil changes last quite some time. I did it everday for a few days right after I bought it to try to get as much out as I could. After that, it's just been a reservior drain and refill at each oil change. I've been through 2 qts already. Probably extreme, but I sleep better at night.

I had to replace the high pressure line so i followed what jeep said that the whole system takes 1 quart...well one quart only got me to the add line. jeep needs to measure better

Yes they do!

Also good to know it's just about a quart for the whole system. Maybe after I empty the bottle I have, I'll call it "flushed".
