Sirius XM update

Sirius XM update
For those who have Sirius.
Sirius is changing the channel guide, most of our channels will be changed to new numbers MAY 4th.
This sucks, but if it will help eliminate the constant channel updating I'm all for it!

here is the info

The "constant channel upgrading" had nothing to do with this. It was a bug in the 730N RER software that's since been patched. There's several threads on here about where you can download the patch. Burn it to a CD, then apply it yourself in about 5 minutes.

Just desperately hopeful thinking,
I understand it has nothing to do with it.

I have not seen any of the fixes you mentioned and neither have some others.

I did a search, found nothing, If you can point me in the right direction that would be great.

Download page with software update for the RER (note: NOT RHR):

http://mofv.com/mygig/

The 2.402 is the most current software revision and should not only fix the "updating channels" issue (fixed in 2.401) but also improve iPhone 4 compatibility. Download the file, burn it to disc (piece of cake in Win Vista and Win 7), then stick it into the disc slot on your head unit. It will load the disc and begin the update automatically. I'd recommend you do this with the engine running (should only take 5-10 minutes or so). There are a couple prompts you will need to OK as things progress, but it generally does everything itself. You may need to re-pair your phone to the unit when finished.

Also Sirius is changing channels to match XM and Sirius channels finally. For example since Sirius bought out XM, if "Octane" is channel 25 on Sirius and 30 on XM they will be changed to 31 on both XM and Sirius... Those channel numbers are inaccurate, just an example!

Yeah, not sure why they're doing this but refusing to combine billing- if you have radios on both systems they will NOT combine them onto one account nor will they issue a family plan credit for radios across systems.

As for the channel change, I noted my RER updated my presets for me. I didn't have to touch a thing - it went to "updating channels" as I backed out of my driveway, then when it came back up all my presets were adjusted to the new channel numbers.

Glad someone turned me on to this thread. Got the update this morning. Presets are all effed up. Sirius site said they should have fixed themselves automatically. I don't think so. Will this update also help with the "Drop Outs" I've been experiencing?

All of my presets changed automatically. I was expecting to have to reset them but they are all set to the new new numbers.
