My ****ing front brakes!

They are so damn annoying, every time I press on the brake pedal, I hear this nails on a chalkboard like sound. I had the Jeep up on a lift, took the wheels off and inspected, nothing bent broke or loose.

Then took the Jeep to where they got installed, nothing and they did not make a peep when it was test driven (I was in the Jeep). And we think its just the pads.

Also when moving on the highway and lightly pressing the pedal, I hear this repeated whistle sound.

What could this be?

Need grease on the back of the brake pads?

New pads?

Tomorrow, I am trying the grease and if that don't work, then these Hawks are going in the trash.

I had a set of Hawk pads on my Intrepid R/T that squeaked a lot.... I ditched them and got some Bendix ceramic pads and all was better.

whisteling sound = vaccume leak

bake noise, all I know is that the second time the throttle body seal got caught in the throttle body, when I finnaly stoped after extreme braking my brake discs were nice and shiny, and didn't squeek!

I have the same problem Joe. I'll be driving and when traffic slows down and it's stop and go it sounds like the front braks are squeaking though it's my back brakes that get the most dust on them.

Where's the best place to get the Bendix ceramics?

Not sure.. but if you want to look them up part numbers the front pads are D1080 and the rears are D1087.

Tonight I am going to have them greased up and if that do not work on the test drive, I am switching out for Mopars.

I have always liked the Akebonos...
This is what I was going to put on my '05 since the OEMs squeaked also.

And if you were going to get rotors too I would say go with R1, but you already knew I'd say that ;).
