Chemical Guys Grime Reaper APC

Just used it for the first time today. Seemed to work really well on the tires and wheel wells. I noticed after the fact that it should be diluted, but I happened to use it at full strength.

I was careful not to spray it on my wheels but I am sure some of it trickled down onto my 2011 WK2's painted rims. Could this have done any harm to the clear coat? Normally I wouldn't worry but I noticed that after it was rinsed off the tires, the tires had some brown spots on them which I figured was just a very strong degreasing. Thanks everyone. Sorry, just paranoid.

it will be fine as long as you rinsed them off well. couldn't hurt to just wash the rims w/regular car wash as well...

brown spots on your tire can be either tire "blooming" or left over tire dressing

Thanks for the reply. I think it may be the blooming after reading up on it. The car was built only three months ago and I haven't dressed them before.

After thinking about it, after I sprayed the Grime Reaper on the tires, it looked almost like the brown was melting off the tires. My guess is not good. It is some really strong cleaner apparently and obviously needs to be diluted as instructed.

I dressed them up nice with some Poor Boys afterwards. Hopefully no harm done. Thanks again.

the brown that you saw oozing off is called blooming. if you google it, its quite common so don't worry:)

The tires should be fine in the long run but avoid getting it on the wheels. If the wheels look fine they should be fine. If you see anything else irregular take a picture and share it here.
