Embarrassing Moment
Mine came yesterday when I ran into several acquaintances at a business meeting.
Each of these guys drives a Mercedes sport ute but they were openly admiring my mineral gray Summit which I've had for less than 2 weeks.
Upon saying our farewells, I opened the driver's door and was ready to drive away when I got a message to the effect that "no key was found" and it would not start ( the key fob was in my pocket, as always ).
I opened the door and the security alarm went off and I could not silence it no matter what I did. It finally stopped after so many minutes. I did think that it was strange that it did later allow me to start it while the alarm was sounding. I waved goodbye to the two smiling guys and drove off silently cursing to myself.

ah, don't warry. I hope this is the worst thing that going to happened to you. In monets like this, when someone feels bad, I only can offer a story when I was even in worth situation; realizing how much worth somone else might be, hopefully will make you feel better.

Similarly, I had to drive to the client's site and my coworkers drive "sporty" cars, so naturally i said i would drive...
we walk all out to my car. I pulled the handle-nothing, I used the FOB- nothing. So now i got my coworkers ready to kick my behind ( holding all kind of drawings what not) and I can't get into my own car ( oh yeah she was 3 days old).
I tried to remote start, no dice.
so we took 2 other cars. Upon arrival back to the office i've performed surgery ( bent contacts for the coin battery in the fob) not an issue ever since. I am a moth later being rediculed for my new "heep". I am comfortable enough with those comments, but little things like that defiantly drive off some future customers.
feel better and enjoy your ride, hopefully it was just a fluke.

my SRT8 has done this freak alarm 3 times since i got her. what i did was disconnect the battery and let it sit unplugged. then id reconnect it and it was normal again. i dunno what caused my ordeal but it has happened 3 times in 17 months. i dont feel its quite necessary to bring it in to the stealership just yet though. one other thing i did before i disconnected the batter was i unplugged the Horn Fuse cause i dont mind the flickering just the whaling horn that gets annoying. i forget the allotted time for the alarm to shut off on its own but yeah, thought id share even though my vehicle is not a WK2.

My passenger door stopped working while a co worker was riding along. He got in fine, just couldn't get out. He had to climb over the center console to get out, it was awesome. The dealer then took 4 days to get it back to me.

Good times......

Thanks for all of the comments and suggestions.
I must say that that problem was the only bad thing that i have experienced till now and I am really enjoying this vehicle.

Re: Embarrassing Moment
I found out mine has been doing that when in my pocket and discovered that my cell phone was in same pocket and causing issues . Try getting a hook and hook key on belt loop it works great and no issues for me like that .

Re: Embarrassing Moment
My "Embarrassing Moment" was self-inflicted. Came home from a road trip and was first to leave the full-up shuttle at the parking lot. As we pull up the driver announced "looks like a brand new Grand Cherokee", and yours truly bragged a bit by saying "actually it's a brand new Summit".

So I pointed out my bag to the driver, clicked the fob to open the back lift gate, told him not to close it after he put the bag in, clicked the fob again as I got into the front seat and got ready to pull out....

Except that the driver came back honking .. oops, wrong bag. So I'm a bit flustered, jump out of the Jeep and try to open the back lift gate. Somehow in the confusion I must have unlocked the flipper glass (and didn't realize it) ... anyway, the back lift gate will not open! I'm fiddling with the fob, the back latch, etc. It still won't
open and I'm getting really embarrassed.

So there's everyone on the shuttle bus, staring at me as I have to crawl into the back seat, wrestle the mistaken bag out from the back, and hand it to the driver.

I figured out my mistake long after the shuttle and smirking riders were gone. Hubris punished. :o

Re: Embarrassing Moment
My Jeep was only a week old when I attempted to leave work at 2pm to meet wife for our first sonogram for our first child. Got in the Jeep which was unlocked, my first hint that something was wrong and then nothing. No start, no accy, just nothing. Had to call roadside assistance who showed up in 30 min. Was without my jeep for a whole day. Worst part was half my building, people I don't even work with, walked up to me the next day and were like 'hey was that your brand new car being towed away yesterday?' I just put my head down in shame. Funny thing is I bought this jeep to be a more reliable and family proper car for my coming new addition and it has already stranded me
